Severe Chronic Legs Edema and Ache after Post Knees Replacement Surgery, Stress

From: Marian W  Aug.29th. of 2018 at 07:06pm

I’m 55 yrs. old and not the healthiest woman around. The one thing I do know is I know when I am feeling poorly, and my life is way too busy to take day and day here and day there to see one specialist after another. I’ve had issues with lower extremity swelling, especially in my left leg since 2003 after my knee replacement. Swelling has gotten worse since that time which 4 yrs. ago led me to having vein closure and wearing compression stockings. The intervention did help for a while but never really resolved anything. Two years ago, I found a fabulous interventional radiologist who found I needed stents in my iliac veins (groin area) to enhance blood flow. The results were good with that as well.
Approx 3 1/2 months ago, the swelling became extreme. Leg pain and cramps, swelling over my shoes, nighttime burning and restless movement. Starting the day with 4 pills advl just to get out of bed and dressed. Exhausted and dragging especially if my day was exceptionally long unexpectedly. So, thinking a stent may be blocked, I went to back to the vascular Doc and his studies all revealed perfectly patented stents. He too was concerned with the excessive swelling this time. With my blood pressure elevated, he recommended I have a cardiac workup fearing left side heart failure. Cardiology kindly fit me into their schedule within a day and after a million-dollar workup, thankfully all is good with no heart failure noted. So now what. My boss had mentioned looking into acupuncture as she has had friends with positive results for a myriad of issues. So, I hit the net. I looked for a little bit before finding Ming Yang. Fully reviewed her impressive resume and dialed the office. 5pm on a Friday evening, she answered the phone herself and began to do a mini assessment. I was so impressed with her and how she made me feel stating, “I know I will be able to help”. I received all the new patient paperwork via email and my first appointment was the following morning!!! She explained the assessment and discussion would last at least an hour followed by treatment. This woman is over the top amazing. Being a healthcare professional for almost 35 yrs. myself, I thought I was a very well-informed person. I was taught so much regarding nutrition, the basis for acupuncture and Chinese medicine and I honestly can’t even write everything. Dr Yang is such a wonderful clinician who has brought such a positive sense of self back to me that I lost long ago. The first treatment went very well. She reviewed her expectations and encouraged me to truly make the dietary changes she had spoken about. I left the office invigorated and very hopeful that I would begin to see results. Treatment #2. Results are beginning to become noticeable. I just completed treatment #5 over two weeks and I have lost 12 lbs., and the swelling has decreased over 10 cm in circumference at my ankle alone. A mass that had formed in the upper part of my calf is gone. I made the Dietary Changes recommended which have allowed me to already come from my Reflux medication. My energy level is insane now. My leg, though still unattractive and somewhat deformed from several episodes of cellulitis over the years, is looking so much better. I feel so much better and have Ming Yang to whole heartedly thank!!! She has made my legs and my life so much better in so many ways! I wish I could give her 20 stars instead of 5. I can’t wait to see what the futures holds!!!
Thank you so much!!!!!

Headaches / Migraines

Severe Chronic Migraine for Over 58 Years under Heavy Pain Medicines Causing Severe Tension Headache, Severe Anxiousness

From: Guy R.   April 2, 2018, at 10:04 AM

I am a 64-year-old male who has suffered from migraines since childhood.
Throughout most of my life my headaches have been intense with a frequency of two or three a month. However, in the last five years they started to increase in frequency. I resorted to taking more and more pain relievers and I noticed they were less effective. I, then, sought out the help of a neurologist who prescribed pain meds. (eltrptn). At first, this was like a miracle drug as I responded to the drug quite well and I was able to get through my migraines. However, over time my use of the pain meds. per month started to increase. It seemed like no one was hooked on it for any relief since the traditional pain relievers didn’t help at all. Unfortunately, my insurance company had a cap on the number of pills it allowed. Initially, it was 8, but over time this was not enough. Eventually, my doctor was able to get them to approve 12 per month. I was constantly counting how many pills were left and worrying whether I would make through the monthly allotment. At this point I was getting up with daily headaches and because of the number of pills I was allowed I had to suffer through the less intense episodes. I started to focus my life on my daily headaches. It affected my work and social life. We were planning for the wedding of my daughter and while everyone was enjoying the process I was stressing out for fear of a migraine the day of the wedding. I did get through that day with a combination of pain meds. (eltrptn and excdrn) Migraine. However, I knew I had to do something since I was suffering from classical medication overuse. Upon my wife’s advice I decided to try acupuncture. After much research I chose Dr. Ming Yang. I decided to see her based on her comments to me that she treated the whole body and not just migraines. My first appointment with her was January 13, 2018. She spent over an hour evaluating my situation and assured me that she could help me. However, she did request that I try to stop all medications. Although this was frightening, I knew I had to give it a shot. I was hoping that acupuncture would help me get through it. Since that day I stopped taking any medications for my migraines. At first, it was extremely difficult. Besides all the pain, it also impacted my work life. What encouraged me is that after my acupuncture treatments my headaches subsided. I went from daily headaches to two or three per week, to two or three per month. Although I am not headache free, when you consider where I was with the daily headaches this was life changing. I highly recommend Dr. Yang for her compassionate care and her holistic approach to health through her acupuncture services and helpful advice on diet and stress management. Thank you, Dr. Yang!

Chronic Headache Due to Summer Heat

From: Grace Jan 21, 2021

Dr Yang is an amazing healthcare provider. I went to see her for a chronic headache. I was in pain 24/7 and none of the western doctors had any idea what to do. She takes the time to figure out what factors are contributing to your problem and treats the ailment’s source. Most pharmaceutical interventions treat only symptoms. Because of this, her treatment may take longer than you want or than you expect but stick with it! If you do everything, she says you will eventually feel better and for me it seems to be a more lasting and true wellness than would be possible without acupuncture. She is also a more comprehensive acupuncturist than many in the area. She doesn’t just stick needles where you feel pain, she treats your body like it is one connected entity (because it is!) And treats the whole problem.

Chronic Migraines for over 30 Years with Insomnia, Tremors, Anxiousness

From: Bruce E.  Jan 22 of 2019

Dr. Yang’s treatment have been amazing. She has eliminated my migraines of 30+ years after Jan 22 2019just a few Treatments. My anxiousness levels have been reduced and sleep quality has improved. I couldn’t be happier or more satisfied. Her recommendation to eliminate ‘pipe water’ and use only filtered water has made a big difference. I highly recommend her to people with these issues and many others detailed on her website.

Severe Chronic Headache with Excessive Sweat for Entire Adult Life

From: Arthur M.  06/06/2017

I’ve suffered with almost daily headaches my entire adult life and have seen multiple doctors through the years hoping for relief. My sister has been getting acupuncture therapy for several months in PA for a back problem and was told by the woman treating her that she has had much success helping her patients.

I contacted Dr. Ming Yang after being given her name by my primary doctor and first saw her on May 13th. To my surprise and great pleasure, I have had a headache since that morning. I’ve had 3 additional treatments and have yet to get a headache. Although Dr. Ming Yang probably will disagree with my choice of words it has been nothing short of miraculous. I am hopeful that things will continue because this ‘new’ life has been fantastic.

I can’t thank Acupuncture & Oriental Health Care & Dr. Yang enough.

Chronic Headache with Wellbeing Maintenance Since 02/2010 to Present

From: David P.  01/15/2017

I started coming to Dr. Yang six years ago to treat severe migraine headaches and other stress-related aches. She was able to relieve me of the headaches and sleeplessness. The headaches have not returned. I have been coming for general maintenance every two weeks since then. I always feel more relaxed immediately after treatment. She treats the entire body using needles literally from head to toe. I recommend Dr. Yang if you are considering acupuncture as a treatment. I find it to be refreshing without the side-effects of drugs.

Severe Migraine for 21 Years, Anxiousness

From: Liza N.   Oct 20 of 2014 at 12:42 PM

I am a 41-year-old woman who has suffered from debilitating migraines since the age of 19. I was diagnosed with classic migraine and prescribed Imtrx. No other over the counter meds worked for me but Imtrx was a miracle drug. I will continue to take it as needed for the next 21 years. The problem was I was constantly worrying whether my allowance of 9 pills would even last me until my next refill. I suffered far more than 9 severe headaches a month. I saw all the doctors (neuro specialists included) but none of them offered me a real solution. Beta blockers or other drugs I would have to take every day just were not for me; yet the doctors said I could not continue to take Imitrex as it seemed my body was no longer responding to it.  Migraine had begun controlling too much of my life. Would I enjoy the weekend with my family? Will I need to use up my sick days for work? It was a burden. Something had to change. This is when I decided to give acupuncture a chance. Even after calling Dr Yang, I was hesitant. It took a few conversations on the phone before I finally agreed my health and wellbeing needed to take priority. I am a busy working mother, and, like many women, I let my own personal needs come last. Dr Yang convinced me to come in, and I am thankful she did. I gave up Imitrex. Yes, it was a scary thought. But I did it. Dr Yang told me I had to detox my body from it. It was now a toxin. That was July 8, 2014, the day of my first treatment. Today is Oct 20, 2014, the day of my 5th treatment. I have been paining free every day in between. Re read that last sentence because it is true. At 41, I am no longer a prisoner of the pain med. or pain. I leave my house free of worry ~and without medication. I urge you to give acupuncture a chance. You have nothing to fear or to lose. It does work. My life has changed. And acupuncture has brought me other benefits. I am more centered, sleep better, and take life’s challenges more in stride. My diet has improved under Dr Yang’s supervision as well. Dr Yang’s treatment has been a wonderful gift. I am incredibly thankful.

Occipital Neuralgia-Headache (Under Treatment From 97 to 103 Years Old of 2015)

From: Barbara R.  Saturday, July 14, 2012, 3:04 PM
Subject: Jean J. Sending letter.

To Whom it May Concern,

I would like to testify that I am so grateful for the acupuncture care that my mother (who is now 100 years old) has received from Dr. Ming Yang in Voorhees, NJ. My mother gets periodic (every few months or so) episodes of continuous agonizing occipital neuralgia. She describes it as a knife or hatchet continuously slashing through her ear, face and jaw. Prior to having acupuncture, her doctors kept her on continuous doses of one of pain meds. for the extent of the attack-which was often a week or 10 days. I am quite sure that my mother would not have survived to this age were Dr. Yang not available to treat her. Besides her skill in acupuncture, her personal concern and care for my mother has been so helpful. She always got my mother in immediately understanding that her advanced age and fragility created great difficulties. Also, she felt pain spots along the meridians and was thus able to cure more than just the reason we came. My mother’s health always vastly improved after Dr. Yang’s visit. And best of all, my mother trusts Dr. Yang implicitly. That is no small gift for me, since getting my mother the care she needs can sometimes be difficult if the relationship with the care provider is not optimal.

I will be eternally grateful to Dr. Yang for her wonderful care and concern. The pictures of them were taken on my cell phone days before my mother’s 100th birthday party. My mother was well to truly enjoy her party. Again: thank you Dr. Yang!

Severe Migraines, Allergy, Anxiousness

From: April G. Thursday,  March 29, 2012, 3:44 PM

I have been suffering from migraines since I was 25 years of age and at that time my family Dr had put me on one of pain medications. This seemed to work for a while but then they got out of control, and they started to give shots in the back of my head between my skull & spine, which was being done every two weeks for several months, until the Dr that was doing this left. They sent me to have epidurals in my neck thinking this would help, instead it hurt & I said never again. I moved out of state & they seemed to calm down for a while, but they did start again but not as bad, so my family Dr (different Dr) put me on 2 pain meds once again, this did seem to work for a while. I moved back to New Jersey in 2006 and they came back three times a week, when I went to my new family Dr, they had me go to a Neurologist. I went and had all the tests they could have me have, brain scans, MRI’s blood work, they came up with trying different meds. I didn’t care for that Dr so my husband & I changed to one of the top Neurologist in Cooper & she put me on other 5 pain meds. I couldn’t understand why I was put on blood pressure medicine when I never had high blood pressure, I was told this should keep my vessels open, I wanted this to work so I tried, but like all the other times I guess my body got use to the medicine & they stopped working. I was up to 12 pills a day & they were just for migraines! I had a really bad migraine that put me out of work for 3 days & fearing I would lose my job I looked for other help & that’s when I found acupuncture. This is when I meant DR Ming Yang, my miracle doctor, I e-mailed her telling her a little of my issues & she immediately called me back within an hour & said she believed she could help. I made an appointment & she explained everything to me & my husband & we decided to give it a try & I am HAPPY to say I have had five treatments and have been going since the 23rd of Feb. and have had NO major migraines! I had one little one, but I was able to handle that, but I really consider that Dr. Ming Yang is my savior, I had no life & she has given back to me & I can’t thank her enough. I feel that you must have faith that it will work before you go, I was at my wits, and I had nowhere else to go & she has turned me around. My husband makes sure that we follow all her suggestions & do what she says because she knows what she is talking about. My husband says he loves it because I am smiling once again & enjoying life! Dr Yang is also treating me for my allergies. I just can’t believe how I have suffered for the last six years having a migraine at least 5 out of 7 days & now going for over a month with no migraines, it’s like having a new life again!
Thank you Dr. Yang for everything you have done for me! You have given me my life back & I can once again enjoy being with my husband!

Severe Headache & GI Disorder

I am 51 years old and since my 20’s I have suffered from severe headaches.  I also suffered with irritable bowel syndrome.  Last 3 years my headaches became more frequent and intense to the point that I had only 4 “headache free” days a month.  My headaches were not classified as migraine, they were cluster headaches that would rebound continuously.  I have been to 2 Neurologists, 1 Chiropractor, 1 Shrink, and 1 Allergist during the last 3 years.  Numerous medications were tried.  I finally tried acupuncture and met Dr. Ming Yang.  She listened intently to everything I told her.

She did a very good assessment of my condition.  She told me that my headaches were emotional and stress related.  She treated my whole body and the IBS disappeared after one treatment.  By the third treatment there was significant improvement in my headaches.  I could go almost a week headache free.  By the 5th treatment I felt even better.  After 6 treatments my use of headache medications is down by 75-85 %.  Dr. Ming Yang truly cares about helping people, most important SHE LISTENS TO YOU.

Relieving Severe Stress Causing Long Term Anxiousness with Panic

From: Jessica D.  09/29/2014

I’ve suffered from panic attacks since the age of 16. My first appointment with Dr. Yang was life changing for me. Not only did Dr. Yang take her time, offer compassion along with her extensive knowledge and expertise, she reassured me that I would be OK and there is light at the end of the tunnel. During my treatment I could feel a pulsing of energy flowing through my body. It was as though my body was, energetically, jumping up and down with Joy saying, “finally! We are clearing out the old!”. Immediately after my first treatment, my complexion was glowing and the only way I can explain it, I felt “lighter”. I follow Dr. Yang’s nutritional recommendations and have gained healthy weight, feel I can manage stress easier, have barely any panic (was at a 9-10 prior to my 1st treatment and now a 1), and I’m sleeping much better! By my 3rd Acupuncture treatment, I found I was actually falling asleep during! I appreciate and am so very grateful to Dr. Yang and her staff for their expertise, compassion, and time in helping me to clear the energy blocks that were contributing and causing panic within my being.

Chronic Gastrointestinal (GI) Disorders – Severe Constipation for Over 43 Years, Migraines, Weight Gain with Severe Anxiousness

From: Cynthia S.  May 29, 2018, at 10:01 AM

I came to Dr Yang hopeful, but highly skeptical. I was always told one thing, and when that didn’t work, another. I somewhat expected that this would turn out the same. Since birth I’ve struggled with chronic constipation, and 43 years is a long time to deal with an issue people somehow always said was your fault but couldn’t find a solution for. It was so bad that at age 7 my mom had to give me enemas regularly just so I wouldn’t be in terrible pain. The process of going to the bathroom actually did physical damage to my body. Somehow, I managed over the years though, and would regularly tolerate not going to the bathroom for 5-7 days at a time. It was horrible. I got sick often. I also suffered from daily migraines, weight gain and a belly that looked like it was 3 months pregnant all the time. I talked to several doctors and nutritionists. Had allergy testing, and strict diets. At one point I checked myself into the Mayo Clinic, for two weeks of humiliating and invasive tests. $15,000 later, my diagnosis was IBS of unknown causes and a recommendation to see a psychiatrist, because I must be causing this to myself, right? So, I did that too. For 4 years. I was desperate for an answer. My stroke of luck came when I got sick for my 4th or 5th time in a year with vomiting and feeling like death while at work. I could barely leave the premises so went to see the clinic onsite. A doctor there sent me for an immediate CT scan. I knew what they would find because it was there the last time, I had the same test done. The next day she told me that she, nor the technicians, had ever seen anyone so full of poop. Even though I had been going semi regularly, I was still not eliminating, and this was the reason I was so sick. She said she thought I had Hirschsprung’s Disease, a birth defect that was never caught and usually can only be cured by surgery. She also said some people found success with acupuncture. Immediately I sought out the right practitioner and came to Dr Yang’s website. This was too important to just get any acupuncturist. I had a good intuition about seeing Dr Yang, and I’m glad I did. After 7 sessions with Dr Yang, I am happy to report that I am feeling 100 percent better. I no longer have the pain in my stomach and back where everything was blocked. I can eat again! Before I had to watch everything, I ate, or not eat at all, just so I wouldn’t get worse. I hardly have a migraine. My emotions are so much better. Who knew it was the other way around, that this condition could affect how I felt as much as the other way around. I am also almost at a spot where I can go 1-3 times a day all by myself. No laxatives! I’m so happy that I found Dr Yang. She has literally changed how I deal with my health and body, and I most likely will never need surgery now, nor medications or doctors performing tests with no answers!! I highly recommend anyone with an issue to come here first. It will change your life.

Severe Stress, Car Accident Injury of Neck and Back Pain, Successfully Preventing Surgery by Acupuncture Treatment

From: E.D. A Senior Nurse Practitioner September 17th of 2018 at 1:16PM

I have been treated by Dr Ming Yang since October 2017. I was in a car accident in December of 2016 and sustained disc injury to my neck and lower back. I had oral steroids, physical therapy including aquatic treatments, steroid injections to quiet the nerves of back and legs, and ablation, a procedure to kill a nerve to relieve or at least reduce pain and immobility. The neurosurgeon treating me reinforced at each visit that surgery was my only option, and after the “fusion” surgery there would be no guarantee of my comfort level, and my mobility for bending and twisting would be severely restricted. Too the numbness in my legs and feet were likely to persist for my lifetime.

I have had acupuncture in the past and found great benefit. I had great fortune to find Dr Ming Yang. After an extensive history gathering, she began to treat my whole body, provided advice regarding nutrition, sleep, rest, and stress reduction. Initially, I was slow and selective to heed her advice, but once I did exactly as she advised, I began to experience a whole new life. I went from twice weekly treatments (I could have used daily treatments) to my present every two-week schedule. I went from sacral lumbar (lower) back pain, at a level of 9-10 constantly, with sharp sciatic nerve pain radiating down to my toes and full right and partial left leg and foot numbness to the degree I was tripping. I was depressed and because of steroids and lack of activity I had gained 26 pounds from the time of my accident. I now can be active, ride a bike, walk nearly a mile, and have lost 30 pounds. My pain is occasional, and level 2-3 at worst, and easily relieved by lying flat on some heat for about 20 minutes. I’m happy, energetic and so very grateful to Dr Ming Yang. I will continue treatment for as long as I live since it is so beneficial to my whole body and mind. I tease her, and say if she decides to retire, I will show up at her home for continued acupuncture treatment.

I have been a Nurse/Nurse Practitioner for 47 years and have extensive experience treating patients with trauma, chronic pain, and issues of aging. My profession and my personal makeup dictate critical analysis of any treatment modalities. My practice is based on evidence from extensive clinical research and there is much new research purporting the many benefits of acupuncture on a myriad of symptoms from muscle and nerve pain to depression, anxiousness, PTSD, and asthma. I recommend and prescribe acupuncture to many patients for their immediate and chronic symptom relief, and without fail they return to report the benefits to their entire body and mind. I can testify first-hand of the positive effects of acupuncture; the specific scientific, intuitive, and integrative acupuncture performed by Dr Ming Yang is a uniquely superior healing experience.

Severe Stress, Neck, Shoulder Pain, Numbness, Tingling, Suffering a Long-Term Chronic Nerve Damage

From: Amanda D B.  Apr 17, 2021

Dr. Ming is amazing! I highly recommend her. Today was my 3rd treatment and I have been continuing to feel better ever since treatment one. I suffered from long term chronic back nerve damage in my shoulder and neck with numbness and tingling. Ever since I began acupuncture by numbness and tingling has completely subsided and only starts to come back if I have slept on my left arm but aside from that the normal all-day tingling and feeling like my blood wasn’t circulating through my arm hand and fingers are gone. My body is also releasing a lot of toxins which is helping my overall health. I don’t feel tired or drained before the day is over. Not only does she do acupuncture she gives live changing advise that if you follow you are certainly going to notice the difference. I will be continuing my weekly visits.

Chronic Anxiousness & Stress for Over 20 Years, Headache, Seasonal Allergy…

From: Stephanie C.   Dec 16 of 2019

I’ve been seeing Dr. Yang almost a year. I’m in my 30s and have suffered with chronic anxiousness for years but reached my breaking point when my father died. I was skeptical at first because of the frequency of the treatments but stuck with the recommended schedule and am so glad I did. I’m at a point where I really just enjoy the experience and see Dr. Yang every three weeks to a month, schedule permitting. However, when I tried to push the schedule out too early in my treatment, I could actually feel the difference during my sessions. Also, I was pleasantly surprised to find my insurance covers acupuncture at both in-network and out-of-network (post deductible) rates, so definitely look into it. My headaches have also been cured and Dr Yang has even helped me with my seasonal allergies/congestion. It’s a VERY holistic approach (diet and exercise included) compared to say, community acupuncture, where it’s just a few needles. My treatment usually includes 40+ needles head to toe.

Multiple Symptoms- JRA, POTS, Syncope Endometriosis, Depression, Insomnia, Poor Appetite with Severe Anxiousness

From: Brittany V.  Tuesday, December 4, 2007, 3:49:07 PM

I am a 15-year-old girl. I have been suffering from multiple problems such as Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis (JRA), Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Neurocardiogenic, Syncope, Depression, Endometriosis, Lack of eating, and some Sleeping Problems. I have had my JRA since I was 9 years old, my parents would run back and forth with me to the local ER, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and DuPont Hospital in Delaware. Throughout all the visits and stays in the various hospitals and the many kinds of specialist I had visit all they could ever do for me was give me pain medication. After I had been switched back and forth from multiple doctors and been on many different pain management programs and drugs, my doctor from DuPont finally suggested going to an acupuncturist he said that it couldn’t hurt. After being in pain for six years and holding in my frustrations I was more than willing to do anything. So, my mom went to her computer and started looking up acupuncturists in our area. Dr. Ming Yang had caught her attention; she was impressed with the fact that she was studying neuroscience. We went ahead and made the appointment; once we arrived Dr. Ming Yang instantly greeted us with a warm and happy face. She was unlike any doctor I had gone to before. She took the time to sit there with us and get to know me. She cared about how I felt and treated me as human being instead of “another patient.” After my first treatment I felt immediate results in the way I felt emotionally and physically. After my third treatment it was as if I was a completely different person. I went back to the doctor, after my second to last acupuncture that had referred me to acupuncture and he himself said I was a completely different person and that he no longer felt the need to put me on any of the anti-depressants he was planning to. I will never be able to thank Dr. Ming Yang enough for what she has done for me. I am truly sad that I had to move away, yet you can be sure that about every 3-4 months I will be going up to Voorhees to see Dr. Ming Yang and get a routine maintenance check-up.

Anxiousness, Bi-Polar Disorder-Psychosis & Extremely Heavy Menstruation,

From: Alida B.  Friday, July 29, 2011, 8:12 PM

Last fall, our daughter was diagnosed with severe depression by both a neurologist and a psychiatrist, the psychiatrist adding additional diagnoses of bi-polar disorder and psychosis. Both told us that the only way to address this mental disorder was with lifelong anti-depressant drugs. Because our thought was that our daughter’s illness might be correlated with her recent start of birth control pills (these prescribed by her gynecologist to control her extremely heavy menstrual flow), we felt that the introduction of another medication would only pose an additional and equally serious challenge to her already compromised well-being. We, therefore, turned to Chinese medicine for a more natural way to her healing. Dr Yang kindly received us and listened carefully to our concerns. She encouraged our daughter to take steps to begin eating normally again, to take daily vitamins, and to be conscientious in keeping regular hours for sleep. Over several months of acupuncture treatments, gradual but significant improvements became evident. Dr Yang was supportive the entire time, through our ups and downs, and when we had questions about the course of treatment and its effectiveness. After about eight months, our daughter herself was able to make the decision that she no longer needed the support of acupuncture, which prior to this time, she would not have been able to make objectively as her thought processes were then compromised. Our daughter has now returned to the person we knew her to be before the onset of her illness.

We thank you, Dr Yang, for taking on the challenge that our daughter presented and for assisting her recovery through Chinese natural medicine, the path that western traditional medicine mistakenly chooses to ignore. We believe that too many people are unnecessarily medicated and over-medicated, and unfairly suffer from serious side effects from a regimen of drugs to the wrongful benefit of pharmacies and the manufacturers of drugs who see profits at the expense of escalating health insurance costs and the individual’s right to natural healing.

For over 35 yrs., I have suffered from depression and anxieties. Nine years ago, after an emotional separation and divorce my depression, various anxieties, decrease in energy and a noticeable loss in long- and short-term memory consumed my life. I sought help from physicians, hypnotists, vitamins, energy drinks and pills but nothing gave me prolong relief.

Four months ago, my fiancée suggested I seek help from an Acupuncturist. I have always been fascinated with Eastern Medicine and since Western Disciplines had failed me. It was time to try a medical procedure that has been in practice for over 3,000 years and is still in practice today. I researched the procedures involved with acupuncture and the results claimed by its patients. I was truly impressed by what I discovered. Now, with research in hand I had to find an Acupuncturist with experience in treating patients like me. After reading Dr. Yang’s educational and practical background I knew I had found the one for me.

After my first appointment, I noticed an increase in my energy level, decrease in episodes of depression and anxiousness attacks, and an increase in cognitive abilities. By my seventh appointment, I felt like I did when I was 18 yrs. old. I just completed my fourteenth appointment and I no longer suffer from bouts of depression; anxieties and I am back in the gym.  My quality of overall wellbeing has not been at this level in a very long time.

Dr. Yang, thank you for your dedication to the practice of acupuncture, and for giving me a new lease on life.

Severe & Unbearable Anxiousness & Stress

From: Jeffrey S. Friday,  October 24, 2008, 11:04:15 AM

My anxiousness was unbearable for such a long time. I tried many other treatments but none of them seemed to work. A family member of mine got me interested when they said acupuncture helped them. My first visit I was a little scared, but Dr Yang was so kind there was nothing to be afraid of. After my first treatment I noticed a remarkable change. My overall attitude felt much better, I had more energy, and I wasn’t so worried anymore. I am still getting acupuncture done and I look forward to each session. I love it! Acupuncture has worked for me, and it will work for you with the help of Dr. Yang. Dr Yang is a great Doctor, and I can’t thank her enough. There is hope for whatever you are going through. Don’t worry!

Dizziness, Headache, Anxiousness, Stress

From: William B.  Tuesday, May 27, 2008, 9:41:47 AM

I first came to Dr. Yang in April 2008 – primarily to treat Anxiousness, dizziness and Headache issues that I have wrestled with for almost 20 years. Having tried many “traditional” therapies – I came to acupuncture with an open mind – and guarded optimism. I was very pleased to find that within a month of treatment, the frequency and level of my anxieties had significantly decreased from about a “9” (on a scale of 1 – 10) to about a “2” and at times even a “1” – accompanied by very significant improvements in my dizziness and Headache issues as well. An unexpected plus was a strong improvement in my overall wellbeing and energy level! Dr. Yang also took the time to explain the importance of plenty of rest, good nutritional balance coupled with a positive, happy view of life – enhancing my emotional wellbeing as well.

Strange Muscle Twitching & Anxiousness

From: Edward C.  12/2017

I’m 26 and I started suffering from severe anxiousness and strange muscle twitching about 2 years ago. Prescribed medications didn’t help much. I decided to try acupuncture and saw several practitioners before I found Dr. Ming Yang. When I went to have my first acupuncture treatment with Dr. Yang, she took the time to talk to me about things like eating habits, sleep schedule, etc. Then, she gave me a diet and some great advice about how to organize my lifestyle! The treatment was very intense, and I went home feeling a lot better. That was about 6 months ago, and I’ve already had about 5 treatments with her. Since then, my health has tremendously improved.

Severe Anxiousness, Insomnia with Chronic Restless Leg Syndrome

From: Mary P.  at 1:13pm 06/30/2015

Dear Dr. Yang,

I had my first treatment with you on June 8, 2015, for restless leg syndrome (RLSS) which led to insomnia.  I had this condition for approximately eight years off and on and when I came to you, I was at my wits end.  I hadn’t slept for about 3 months.  I went to bed about 10:30 pm or so and the legs started.  I would get up, stretch, walk around, go up steps, get back into bed and the RLS started again. Tried again and again and the twitching didn’t stop until about 4:00 am. then 5:00 am and the one time it was 6:00 am. I slept late but was like a zombie.  I had told my family doctor and she recommended tonic with quinine and after taking almost a whole bottle it did help.  After a while I took less of the quinine, and I thought “Great” I’m cured!!!!  After a few months it came back with a vengeance.  The Quinine no longer worked.  I tried Melatonin and other two meds. for sleep, some worked for a very short time, but nothing helped me sleep and nothing stopped my RLS. I reached and researched and just got more mixed up than ever!  I immediately made an appointment with a sleep center and had to wait for a few weeks.  In the meantime, a light bulb went off and I thought “why not try acupuncture.”  I did my research on finding an acupuncturist and found Dr. Ming Yang.  I was so very impressed by her degrees and testimonials that I made an appointment right on the spot.  Keep in mind I had never read that acupuncture worked for RLS…  After my first treatment, I had no RLS that night and I thought this could not be true.  Same thing for the second night.  It did come back very slightly but after walking for about 2 minutes I got back into bed and no RLS.  It literally took my breath away.  I couldn’t believe it!  After the 4th treatment I have no more RLS but just a few twitches here and there but after a minute walk or so it just stopped.  To me, it is a TRUE MIRACLE!!!  I’m still shocked and on cloud nine.

Now I still have insomnia as I had taken so many types of sleeping pills that my body is way off balance.  Dr. Yang is helping me on that, and I will write a review after a while as she said that it would probably take a while.  The only thing I take is 2 klnpn about two hours before sleep and it works but I’m a bit groggy in the morning.  Dr. Yang is trying to wean me off the klnpn so that I can sleep naturally. She believes in having a “clean” body and I agree.  My hopes are up with Dr. Yang’s help.

I can’t say enough about Dr. Yang, she is gentle and really, truly wants to help you. She sits with you before every treatment asking about all the details of what is going on and is genuinely happy when she sees you Improving!

I’m so happy that I discovered acupuncture and wish it was more accepted because people have no idea how much it helps heal the whole body, relaxation, blood flow, everything and she sure picks up on everything your body needs.

I have heard other stories also about how acupuncture helped them so although it is mysterious, IT WORKS!!!!

Thank you, Dr. Yang,

Mary P.

Body Muscle Twitching /Jerking, Anxiousness with Panic

From: Vincent R.  02/15/2015

I suffer from Anxiousness, which causes Depersonalization, Panic attack and fatigue. Those symptoms weren’t limited to a single attack but would continue through the day non-stop. After just one treatment I noticed the effects immediately, I could manage my stress better and calm myself down when in these attacks. From the subsequent treatments my ability to control how I feel greatly increased. I also twitched when I was in social situations due to the stressful nature of some scenarios.  During some of the treatments Dr. Yang targeted my neck, which was the cause of the twitching. The number halved after just one treatment and keeps decreasing as time goes on. After 9 treatments my anxious behavior has greatly improved and continues to get better. Dr. Yang, thank you very much.

Neck Muscle Twitching / Jerking, Anxiousness, Stress

From: Marc A.  01/26/2015 12:26 PM

As a 22-year-old I don’t normally have problems with how I am feeling or my body in general. However, I had had a strange neck twitch since I was in high school and while it doesn’t affect my performance through my daily life it was becoming a nuisance to deal with and was getting to the point where something had to be done. I had gone to see a neurologist about it because it seemed like it might be a type of Tourette, so they decided to treat it as such. They had me try several different medications and I saw little to no improvement in the problem. After trying them a cousin of mine suggested that I try acupuncture and after going to Dr. Ming Yang I was happy to see the improvement on my neck.  After the 5th visit, I hardly noticed the problem anymore and I have been feeling better than ever before. Putting the severity of my condition into numbers ranging from 1-10/10, 10/10 being the worst, my neck twitch went from a 10/10, to a 1-0/10, about 100 or so attacks a day lasting for up to 10 seconds, where I am only having 1 or 2 attacks a day now lasting only a second. Using the same system my depression has gone from a 3-2/10 to a 0/10 and my acne has gone down from a 6-5/10 to a 2-1/10 in terms of redness and itchiness. She has helped me improve my daily life as well as not having to worry about my neck pains/twitch anymore. I would recommend her highly to anyone seeking help before or after they try any medicinal help.

As Marc’s parents, we had just about given up on finding a cure for our son’s persistent neck and head twitching, when we found Dr. Yang.  We took Marc to every kind of doctor available and not one of them had the answer to his problem.  A cousin suggested acupuncture since it had helped her. I found Dr. Yang online and without any recommendation.  Her procedures on Marc have left him without a twitch.  It is awesome how she found his problem and solved it.  We recommend her highly.  You will not be disappointed.

Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia, Herniated Neck Back, Multiple Discs with Stenosis, Anxiousness, Depression, Restless Legs, Constipation & Over Body Weight

From: Geraldine B.  05/26/2017 at 9:31`pm

I have just had my 5th acupuncture treatment by Dr. Ming Yang. I was going to wait until I was finished with treatments to write a testimonial, but I am so overwhelmed with the results so far that I must submit comments now.

I am a very active 77-year-old woman who just in the past year began developing overall body pain, especially in my neck, arms, knees, and lower back; restless leg syndrome; insomnia because of these pains; trouble going up and down stairs and trouble getting up from a sitting position. I also had no energy and was in a state of depression.

I was diagnosed as having either fibromyalgia or polymyalgia until a cervical spine MRI showed two ruptured discs, two bulging discs and bone spurs in my neck that are pressing on my spinal cord.

My rheumatologist referred me to a spine surgeon for treatment and/or surgery.

I decided to try acupuncture for pain management which brings us too today.

After only 5 treatments by Dr. Yang, I no longer have restless leg syndrome, insomnia or depression and have more energy than I have had in a long time. I am sleeping like a baby and feel like my former self again!

I was so happy today that I asked Dr. Yang if I could hug her and had tears in my eyes when this very gentle, sweet and extremely competent doctor opened her arms wide to hug me! It was so obvious how happy she was to have helped me as much as she has in such a short period of time.

She is now concentrating on continuation of the treatment for the pain in my neck, arms, knees and lower back. I have nothing but the utmost confidence that this “miracle worker” will provide me with a much better quality of life when my treatments come to an end.

Fibromyalgia, Herniated Neck Discs, Hypertension, Insomnia, Stress

From: Sharon S.  02/06/2017

I have been going to Dr. Ming since the middle of December 2016. I suffered from fibromyalgia, herniated neck discs, fatigue, hypertension, and insomnia. I was on many medications for pain for about 8 years and my pain was getting worse and worse. I took 5 heavy pain medicines to try to relief my pain, but they stopped working. I was so fatigued I had to lie down most of the day. I was anxious and at my wits ended with all my symptoms. After the first few treatments I felt much more relaxed, and my pain level greatly decreased from 8-9 to 2-3. My pain now is about 1 most of the time, I am much more relaxed, and I sleep soundly every night. I also have more energy. My blood work for the most part is normal, and my blood pressure has decreased with less medicine. I highly recommend Dr. Ming treatment for any one with chronic conditions such as I had.

Severe Fibromyalgia & Anxiousness for Over 24 Years, Tried 10 Different Pain Medications

From: Darliene P.  11/11/2014

Hi Dr. Yang

I just want to say what a pleasure it was to meet with you yesterday. You were very thorough and informative, and I am hopeful that you can help me with my health problems. I am amazed to say that I am feeling significant relief from the pain in my lower back, and actually feel a bit better overall. This gives me hope that I will be able to stop taking all the medications that I have been taking for years and begin to heal my body in a more natural way.

I look forward to my next appointment on Thursday at 3:45. Thank you so much for taking on my challenging situation.

From: Darliene P. 01/16/2015

I have suffered from Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue for 24 years. Over those years, I have tried countless treatments and been on numerous medications. Some have helped for a short while, but overall, nothing has really helped my overwhelming pain and fatigue issues. For the past few years, I have been taking 10 different medications which have some serious side effects. I started seeing Dr. Yang in October, not expecting acupuncture to help me at all, but willing to try anything. The results I have had with her are incredible. She had helped me wean off all my medications, treating the withdrawal effects, and lowering my pain level significantly. For the first time in 24 years, I am not taking any medications. My pain level has been reduced from a “10” to a manageable “3”. I am so thankful that I found her. She is very caring and compassionate. She truly wants to help her patients. I would recommend her to everyone.

Fibromyalgia, Insomnia & Left Thumb Osteoarthritis Pain

From: Dianne C. Thursday,  June 14, 2007, 11:33:54 AM

I have become a believer in the powers of acupuncture, and more specifically in the powers of Dr. Ming Yang. I was diagnosed several years ago with Fibromyalgia, which is not a degenerative disease, but it did cause me a great deal of pain and discomfort. I have struggled with this disease, and although medication (sleep aids and antidepressants) made it easier to bear, I was never without its negative effects. Lack of sleep and stress exacerbated the pain and discomfort.

About a year ago, I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis, which had already seriously damaged the thumb joint in my left hand. It is extremely painful and beyond treatment, other than surgery. Ironically, it is the pain in my hand that led me to seek out an acupuncture specialist, but it is my Fibromyalgia that has improved the most. Thank you to Dr. Yang, I rarely experience any discomfort from my Fibromyalgia. I sleep better and have so much more energy. I can deal much better with the stresses of my life, which include the usual demands of family, along with a challenging job. My hand has also improved, and I deal better with the pain.

I continue to go to Dr. Yang twice a week and have brought two of my loved ones to her for help. What greater testimonial could there be than the willingness to place these special people in her hands?

I must admit that I was nervous before my first visit, but any concerns I had were quickly wiped away. Dr. Yang is a wonderful person, and her warm welcome put me instantly at ease. In addition to her impressive credentials, she is a very kind and caring person. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking help with Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis, insomnia, or any other problem that has not responded well to traditional western medicine.

Fibromyalgia with Severe Sciatica

From: Jean M.  05/2012

I am a 56-year-old female who has recently been declared permanently disabled due to degenerative spinal disease (18 damaged discs). In addition, I suffered for years with severe sciatica (EMG showing ongoing nerve damage) which did not adequately respond to physical therapy, water therapy, traction, facet joint injections, epidural injections, and various other pain management techniques. I have had fibromyalgia for more than 30 years which would flare up in the autumn but for the past year I endured a fibromyalgia flare up (due to the chronic pain) that was so severe and long-lasting that the insomnia, fatigue, migraines and muscle pain was a constant hell which made me question my ability to live… especially since there was no relief or hope of a cure. Yoga, meditation, supplements and medication helped me to put one foot in front of the other each day but just barely; my quality of life was gone.

After researching, interviewing and rejecting several acupuncturists because they either didn’t have the qualifications I sought or because they required treatment packages with high fees, I finally found Dr. Yang. Not only are her credentials an exceptional trifecta (MD, PhD in neuroscience and Chinese trained acupuncturist) she has decades of experience and truly cares about helping her patients.

I have not had a single migraine or any sort of headache since beginning treatment but most astonishing is that my energy levels are so much higher! I am sleeping much better, and sleep is key to preventing and/or recovering from a severe fibromyalgia flare up. Yesterday I felt better than I have in several years and my constitution feels much stronger!! My pain levels are lower and the stress and anxiousness/depression from chronic pain (due to the damaged discs, sciatica, fibro and polyarthritis) is much more manageable. This is literally a life saver!!

I realize now that I spent years with unnecessary suffering and wish I had tried acupuncture (specifically from Dr. Yang) before all the failed or suboptimal Western medications and treatments. If you want to feel better, don’t delay treatment with Dr. Yang and do as she tell you.

I do not publish my email, but I would be happy to correspond with prospective patients. Ask Dr. Yang how you can contact me if you would like more information.

Improving Life Quality of Neurological Disorders – Bell’s Palsy, MS, ALS…

Acute & Chronic Bell’s Palsy with Severe Anxiousness

From: Robert A.  Jan. 20th of 2016

I have been treated by Dr. Yang for Bell’s Palsy. I have had 7 acupuncture treatments by Dr. Yang over a 3-week period in addition to 3 treatments by a physical therapist that require daily facial exercises. All my outward signs of Bell’s Palsy are gone. What remains is that my taste has still not returned. There is about 40 % improvement with my taste but still waiting for the other 60 % to return. I’m very satisfied with Dr. Yang and would rate her a 10.

ASL with Swallow, Speaking, Neck Weakness, Chronic Fatigue, Severe Anxiousness with Lyme’s Disease

From: Thomas V.  Aug 25 of 2016

Over the past two years I have been experiencing degrading neurological symptoms that were concentrated around my neck and shoulders. The symptoms progressed to significant weakness in my neck, atrophy in my neck and shoulder muscles and difficulty swallowing, among others. After numerous examinations and testing, I was diagnosed with ALS in July 2016. At the time of my diagnosis my symptoms progressed to the point where I had limited mobility of my head and needed to hold my head up with my hand at times to relieve the strain on my neck muscles. Any type of activity that required holding my arms above my head became very difficult.

Leading up to my ALS diagnosis I had read about how acupuncture can be effective in slowing the progression of ALS symptoms. I met with Dr. Yang for an initial consultation and treatment. She was very thorough in her evaluation of my case and her explanation of how integrative acupuncture works. She explained the importance getting plenty of rest to enhance the body’s natural ability to heal itself, reducing anxiousness and depression, and detox the body – eliminating all chemicals from my lifestyle – from cleaning and hygiene products to my diet regimen (absolutely no processed foods). Dr. Yang’s integrative acupuncture treats all these aspects of dealing with an illness like ALS. This means she applies acupuncture treatment to the whole body to help detox, relieve anxiousness and depression in addition to any particular local area were specific, physical symptoms may be present.

Shortly after my diagnosis I had left work because the physical strain on my neck had become too great. I was feeling depressed, and I needed to come to terms with the reality of this challenge. I began seeing Dr. Yang regularly for acupuncture treatment twice each week. After every treatment I noticed improved strength in my neck and shoulders and as the treatments progressed, the improvement was lasting longer. I also noticed an increase in my energy level and less anxiousness.

It is now mid-September 2016 and I have had 12 acupuncture treatments so far. I have changed to a completely organic and chemical free lifestyle for about two months now and I make sure I get 9 hours of sleep each night with a short nap during the day. The combination of the treatments and lifestyle change are really working for me. I have regained some strength in my neck and increased the mobility of my head. This has given me a much more positive outlook.

Since my ALS diagnosis I have also learned a lot about the relationship of chronic Lyme disease and neurological disorders, like ALS. I have a history of having had Lyme disease and believe that may be the root cause of my ALS symptoms. I am also seeing a Lyme specialist now, who, through additional testing, confirmed the presence of active Lyme bacteria in my system – something standard medical tests could not determine. So now I am fighting this battle by treating Lyme disease in the hope that it will stop the attack on my nervous system while I continue with the integrative acupuncture treatments and chemical-free lifestyle to maintain as much strength and energy as possible.

If you or anyone you know is struggling with ALS, I highly recommend Dr. Yang’s integrative acupuncture treatment as early as possible to help slow the progression of this horrible disease. It is definitely helping me, and I am sure it can also help you.

ALS with Left Side Body Weakness and Atrophy & Chronic Fatigue, Lymes Disease

From: John R.  11/29/2016 At 10:39AM

I began treatment with Dr. Yang soon after my ALS diagnosis (initially at UPenn, and later confirmed at Johns Hopkins) in May 2013. Meeting Dr. Yang was my first experience with acupuncture, or more broadly, Chinese medicine.

From that first interaction, I have found Dr. Yang to be very thorough in her approach to evaluating not just my symptoms but my overall physical condition. She continues to do this on a consistent basis as we work together to slow the progression of my disease.

I previously spent 30 years working in the medical industry, and have extensive experience working with physicians all over the U.S. I have concluded that Dr. Yang is a very good and caring person, and more important, a great provider of therapeutic service!!

Three and a half years later, I am still able to walk, use my hands and speak. I am thankful to have found Dr. Yang, and to successfully maintain my physical status under her care. I strongly recommend Dr. Yang for her expertise in Chinese medicine and acupuncture!

I started receiving treatment from Dr. Yang on August 3rd, of this year. I had severed back and neck pain. As of today, October 15, 2018, I am happy to report that I have no back pain and my neck pain is minimal. Her treatment worked wonders for me. I have had multiple physical theory sessions, for the same ailments, on and off, for over three years, with little to no success. Acute MS with Vertigo, Double Vision, Headaches, Right Side Nerve Tingling & Burning Sensation, Anxiousness
From: Kristin A.  May 1st. 2017 at 6:34pm

I first came to see Dr. Yang in March 2017, after experiencing vertigo, double vision, headaches, right sided tingling and nerve pain. Based on MRI’s I had done I was told that it was MS. After researching risks and side effects of MS drug treatments, I decided to try a more natural and holistic approach before committing to any type of immunosuppressive medication. Dr. Yang has been wonderful in treating me, starting at my first visit where she completely put my mind at ease and developed a plan to treat me to help with my neurological symptoms. She is always kind and listens to all my concerns when I see her, she is also very knowledgeable in neurological issues that affect the body. I have been a patient of hers for 2 months now and I can report that I feel great, have good energy and my nerve pain has gone, I also have not experienced any new neurological symptoms since I started seeing Dr. Yang.

Life Quality Improvement for Metastasis of Breast Cancer with Neck pain, Severe Deep Muscle Spasm Pain, Acid Reflux, Constipation, Neuropathy Caused by the Side Effects of Chemo & External Radiation Therapies

From: Sharon  Feb 10, 2023

To Whom It May Concern: In being diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, I suffer from many side effects from the chemo, radiation, and medications I have been a patient of dr. Yang since Aug. 2022 and I highly recommend her services. She has helped me tremendously with the above-mentioned side effects. I had severe deep muscle spasms in my legs for over six years with no relief available except a hot shower when they came. I would wake in the middle of the night screaming in pain or at times they would come upon me depending on how I made a sudden move. Dr. Yang has solved that problem for me through her acupuncture and education. Other issues that she helped me with were acid reflux and neck pain, constipation and neuropathy in my hands and feet. I am so pleased to finally find relief that I have received from her treatments.

Life Quality Improvement of Breast Cancer Metastasis to Bone and Lung with Severe Fatigue, Back Pain, Knee Pain for 3 Years

From: Ginka  Sep 29, 2021

Dr. Ming Yang really helped me restore my energy, reduce pain, and improve my overall wellbeing. I had radiation treatment for cancer and was so tired and fatigued. Dr. Yang really listened to me about my health and issues, and then treated me with a lot of care. She applies needles to all points that need it, not just a few, to make sure she addresses all my needs. She also makes sure I am warm and comfortable during treatment, there are heating lamps and soothing music to help you relax. I also felt very safe regarding Covid there because the doctor always checks the day before if you have any symptoms and upon arrival she checks again and takes my temperature. The next day after acupuncture I felt so much better – my energy was like it was before radiation, my pains were significantly lower, and my mood was positive again. I am very grateful, and I highly recommend Dr. Ming Yang.

Anxiousness, Ribs Pain, Metal Taste, Poor Appetite, Constipation, Neuropathy… Caused by Chemo, External Radiation Therapies

From: Patricia B.  02/14/2014, 4:32:47pm

I originally met with Dr. Yang in August to discuss acupuncture for smoking cessation. During the initial consultation we reviewed my current medical condition. I had recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy treatment, at that time I was on round 3 of 16 treatments. By the 3rd treatment the intensity of the side effects had increased tremendously, and the expectation was the accumulative treatments would only worsen the side effects. During our meeting Dr. Yang proposed an acupuncture treatment which combines both Chinese and Western Medicine knowledge, a vitamin regiment (much less than I was taking), proper diet, and rest to ease the side effects and strengthen the body.

I started acupuncture treatment on August 19 of 2013 and experience immediate relief from the follow side effects: Nausea, metal taste, watery eye and runny nose. I would also compare the side effects felt after the 4th chemo treatment like the 2nd treatment when in fact I was expecting them to increase in intensity.

Acupuncture schedule was twice a week Monday and Thursday (treatment day). For two weeks the schedule was changed to Tuesday and Saturday, but results were best when one acupuncture treatment was performed on the day chemo was administered.

I continued with acupuncture throughout my chemo treatment and there was either a significant reduction in the intensity of the side effect such as fatigue, body aches, yellowing of the skin or the elimination of the side effect completely which was the case for the anxiousness, depression, chronic rib pain and neuropathy in the hands. Both white and red blood counts continued to improve during chemo treatment. Early on during Chemo my hemoglobin was 9 and during acupuncture levels were sustained at 11.8 to 12.

Except for the days that I had chemotherapy treatments I did not miss a day of work. I finish chemo on 11/21/13 and began external radiation therapy 12/12/13 which concluded 2/6/2014. I continued to see Dr Yang during radiation therapy and experienced little to no fatigue.

In addition, I was diagnosed with acute high blood pressure in 1982 and have taken medication since. Even with medication, although stable, my BP would normally be 150/80. During chemo treatment I struggle with both high and low blood pressure, after a few acupuncture sessions my blood pressure stabilized and now is 130/70.

Side effects experienced: Nausea, Fatigue, Heaviness in chest, Anxious, Depressed, Body aches, Chronic rib pain, Metal taste some food had no taste, Constant watery eye and runny nose, Total hair loss, yellowing of the skin Nulsta injection caused pain in all bones, Neuropathy both in the hands and feet.

Frequent and Heavy Hot Flashes Due to Breast Cancer Chemotherapy with Insomnia, Severe Anxiousness, Stress – Patient Referral from Unite for Her

From: Stephanie B.   Nov 10 of 2019

I finished treatment for breast ca this spring and started experiencing hot flashes upon beginning the med Tamoxifen. The hot flashes were morning, noon and night. They were frequent and some nights I would wake up countless times. I was given Dr Yang’s name thru a wonderful organization called Unite for Her. From this, I was able to consult with Dr Yang and receive acupuncture sessions. After about 2 sessions I began to feel relief. My hot flashes became less frequent the more I went. I couldn’t believe it, I was amazed! I am currently down to only a couple of hot flashes per day, and I am sleeping through the night. Not only is Dr Yang good at what she does, she is also very kind and compassionate, and I look forward to seeing her at each visit. If anyone is thinking of trying acupuncture, please try it and you will be pleasantly surprised with the results.

I began seeing Dr Yang after treatments for breast cancer left me with significant side effects. Fatigue vertigo neuropathy and more. I had some success with acupuncture in the past with a different practitioner in a different state. From the first session I realized Dr. Yang’s protocol was very different than my previous practitioner. She used many more needles and included the whole body. I had a significant reduction in all my symptoms, especially my vertigo. My neuropathy has also improved. My fatigue is better. I am still taking hormone medication which has several side effects that she is treating as well. My acid reflux is gone. I am no longer taking all the meds I was taking for allergy’s, dizziness, acid reflux and blood pressure…

Entire Chest Wall Discomfort & Pain following Surgery & Chemotherapy from Breast Cancer with Severe Anxiousness & Fatigue – Patient Referral from Unite for Her

My Unite for Her Acupuncture treatment – with Dr. Ming Yang

Dear Dr. Yang,

I trust this email finds you well. I want to thank you for your kind, caring acupuncture treatment over the past few weeks. I am a breast cancer survivor, and as you know, I had a lumpectomy in 2018. After radiation and being put on anti-cancer medication, I chose to undergo acupuncture through the Unite for Her breast cancer survivor program and after much research I’m glad I chose you as my doctor. On our initial visit you spent over 90 minutes going over my medical history, my medications, my eating habits and my lifestyle. Your recommendations to change my eating habits have made quite a big difference along with the acupuncture treatment that you rendered. Not only did it treat my post breast cancer symptoms such as my reduced arm mobility and chest discomfort and fluid retention, but it also improved my allergies, helped my mental focus and my ability to handle stress. I am very impressed that you use a whole-body treatment plan that involves many different points that work together to promote whole body wellness. When I attended the Unite for her session last year, the speaker there recommended having 8-12 acupuncture treatments to achieve the maximum benefit. Although I didn’t feel different after the first 4 treatments, I decided to continue and by the 8th treatment I was beginning to feel like my old self again. I simply cannot stress how good I felt after completing all 12 of my treatments! I hope insurance companies will soon begin to realize the benefits of covering the cost of these acupuncture treatments, as they relieve pain and are beneficial in keeping to a wellness plan. Honestly, I have never felt so good since I was a teen and I’m 61 years old now! I plan to try to find money within my budget to continue to see you periodically and I am adhering to the plans you set for my daily eating. Thank you so much for your help. I am copying Unite for Her so they will know how much your acupuncture treatment has helped me. I hope more breast cancer survivors will be able to avail themselves of your treatments. Thank you again.

Severe Anxiousness & Fatigue with Entire Body & Joints Pain, Hot Flashes, Fluctuating Blood Sugars, Neuropathy Suffering from Stage III Breast Cancer – Patient Referral from Unite for Her

From: Meliza, A,  07/2017

I was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer in January of 2016. I started seeing Dr. Yang about a month ago because I was having many lingering symptoms which were caused by my cancer treatment. I was suffering from severe hot flashes, horrible body and joint pain as well as neuropathy in my hands and feet and fluctuating sugars. I was amazed to see that my body was responding positively after my first treatment. I was able to actually walk back to work with ease after my first acupuncture treatment. I just had my 6th visit and feel great. Dr. Yang is compassionate and very professional. She has improved my quality of life. I am now able to be a more active mother to my children. Thank you, Dr. Yang. I truly appreciate all your hard work.

Multiple Surgeries with Severe Anxiousness, Insomnia, Fatigue, Hot Flashes, Headache, Chest Wound Pain, Lower Back Pain & Foot Pain – Patient Referral from Unite for Her

From: Kristin L.  At 9:33 PM 02/26/2017

The first time I met with Dr. Ming Yang after receiving high doses of radiation for breast cancer along with multiple back-to-back surgeries, I felt complete comfort, compassion and pure bliss with relief from her desire to help promote overall wellness and overall health for the mind and body which has continued each time I come to her office for acupuncture treatment.

Dr. Ming Yang has a strong passion to understand and problem solve the cause of body pain and ailments , how to manage and detox from the side effects of treatments from breast cancer such as radiation, surgeries, anesthesia and medication etc., the importance of proper nutrition for overall physical and emotional/mental health, how to regulate the body to support a healthy living while overcoming such things as unexplained pains, depression, anxiousness, insomnia as a result of life style or from such a life changing diagnosis etc.

Dr. Ming Yang is a wealth of knowledge about the intrinsic and extrinsic workings of the body and how acupuncture benefits women battling breast cancer treatment and the sudden onset of side effects medication such as “tmxfn” needed as a preventative for breast cancer survivors. Personally, after just 5 treatments acupuncture has helped reduce fatigue suffered after aggressive radiation treatment and has increased my energy level significantly throughout the entire day.

Dr. Ming Yang’s treatments have relieved my issues with insomnia and reduced my heighted levels of anxiousness and worry. My overall disposition is much calmer and I sleep more soundly at night with increased hours of consistent sleep without waking and without difficulty falling back to sleep.

Dr. Ming Yang truly believes in providing her patients a feeling of wellbeing and improving a patient’s overall quality of life. Her office staff /assistants are very warm, friendly, and sensitive to your needs. Dr. Ming Yang is always on time, has evening office hours and provides an atmosphere where you don’t feel rushed because of her genuine authentic kind and care personality.

Dr. Ming Yang has become another guardian angel to me amongst the many I have met along the way during my breast cancer journey! I feel so blessed to have this opportunity to have her treat me!

Post Mastectomy with Chest Wall Pain, Hot Flashes, Fatigue – Patient Referral from Unite for Her

From: Beth T.  06/2017

I went to Dr. Yang as part of my post-mastectomy treatment. Not only did she relieve the pain and constant tingling and burning I was experiencing but she helped me feel better and more positive about my life and my outlook for a healthy future. As an added bonus, I mentioned my discomfort with daily hot flashes. She told me not to worry, she could help. And help she did. After a couple of treatments, I stopped waking up in a sweat every single night. Not only does she help with the “big” things, she alleviates those “smaller” things that may not pose a serious threat, but really affect your quality of life. Thank you, Dr. Yang!

Hips, Thighs, Legs Severe Pain, Anxiousness

From: Audroid B.  02/06/2017

My 69-year-old mother was diagnosed with breast cancer a little over a year ago. She was put on a medication that caused a few side effects. She began suffering from severe leg aches. She suffered terribly, and no pain medications were working to alleviate her discomfort. Her oncologist suggested acupuncture and honestly, we thought it was a long shot. Much to our surprise, it worked like a miracle. Within 2 weeks, her pain was gone. She was able to get back to her life and enjoy it, free from pain, thanks to Dr. Ming Yang. My entire family highly recommends her, and we are so grateful to her for helping my mother feel like herself again.

Relieving Chronic Fatigue, Anxiousness, Multiple Surgeries with Radiation, Chemo Therapies during Treatment of Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC) Tumor of Nose

From: Sara S.   At 11:50 am 07/16/2017

I started seeing Dr. Ming Yang in September 2016 for help with my nose. When I came to her, I was being treated for nasal vestibulitis and had been seeing both an ENT and an Infectious Disease DO, both of whom my PCP had referred me to. The ENT and ID had both prescribed various antibiotics almost consistently for the previous 6 months. By the time I got to Dr. Yang, my nose was visibly red, swollen and hard, and extremely tender. Although I also had an upcoming appointment with an Otolaryngologist at Thomas Jefferson Hospital, I was near my wits end. Nothing prescribed had helped and the ENT and ID had no idea. I also did not want to take any more drugs. I was very hopeful that acupuncture may help as well. On my first visit, Dr. Yang listened very carefully as I explained the previous year –the issue with my nose had first started in September 2015. She immediately started me on a revised diet to help build my immune system. After six months of antibiotics, most of them very strong, my immune system was very weak. She also started treatments, and I began seeing Dr. Yang 2x per week.

On October 10th, 2016, I had my Otolaryngology appointment. The doctor wanted to perform a biopsy immediately. I was admitted to the hospital the night of the 10th and early on the 11th, a biopsy was performed. Later that morning I received the news that I had a squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) tumor. The post-operative pathology and PET scan a few weeks later confirmed I had a Stage 3, N0 tumor affecting my nose and nasal septum. Because of the staging, the only option was a total rhinectomy, essentially, the removal of my entire nose. After hearing this diagnosis, Dr. Yang immediately focused on preparing me for surgery (scheduled for November 10, 2016) by strengthening my immune system as well as treating the tumor in hopes it may decrease in size some. Although she only had about six to seven weeks to accomplish what she could, I could feel my body growing stronger during this time. In addition, my partner noted how much better my skin looked. She said the waxen look I had had for a few months was disappearing, replaced by a glow. I know because of Dr. Yang I went into surgery prepared physically and mentally.

Recovery post-surgery was arduous, and I also had to prepare for the next stage of cancer treatment, combined radiation and chemotherapy. Although I was not able to see Dr. Yang as often as I would have liked in December, again, she focused on building my strength back up. Also, and although arduous, my healing process was noticeably fast, something my surgical oncologist and reconstructive surgeon noted at my post-op appointments. This I believe was also in part a direct result of the acupuncture treatments and thus, yet again, I know I entered radiation and chemotherapy in a stronger place than I might have been otherwise.

I was able to see Dr. Yang a few times during treatment and post-treatment as well, which helped to maintain my overall health and well-being. In addition, I did not suffer many side-effects, such as nausea and vomiting or a tremendous increase in fatigue. My appetite remained reasonably intact as well, and as a result, I was also able to maintain a healthy weight. At the end of treatment, my oncologists noted that I had “…cruised through treatment…” which gave them great hope. Dr. Yang specifically focused on helping to reduce side effects during her treatments and I believe this focus was a tremendous help in reducing their potential impact.

One other very important contribution Dr. Yang made was helping me remain confident, optimistic, and brave. Facing cancer is a tremendous challenge and opens the door to emotions and thoughts you never knew existed. Cancer also infiltrates every aspect of your life, every single aspect. It takes its toll on you, and everyone close to you. You are forever changed by it. Dr. Yang took great care in her treatments to ensure my mental and emotional state was treated as well. She also encouraged me to think and remain positive, to be brave, to be strong. In fact, “be brave” became one of my mantra’s throughout and remains so today. Her treatments, combined with positive thinking, visualization, reiki, massage therapy, prayer, and staying active (30 minutes of walking per day, no matter how awful you feel is imperative –and I know this because my partner is one of the premier authorities on cancer and exercise) helped my mental and emotional state tremendously. Believe me, I had my moments and meltdowns and I allowed myself these times. They are necessary. Cancer is a beast. But I moved through these times and surfaced on the other end strong and confident with more ease than I believe I would have had I not been receiving acupuncture.

SCC is a rare form of head & neck cancer, and I did not fit the typical profile of someone who would be diagnosed with this type of cancer, a long-time smoker, or one who’s worked in an industrial setting long-term. The only thought I have is that being an architect, and one who has surveyed many an old building / warehouse over my 25-year career to date, I may have been exposed to something that over time, caused this cancer to develop. I started this process in September 2016 as a healthy, strong 48-year-old –aside from the cancer, and remain one today, although now I’m 49. I am also now cancer free and entering the next phase of my treatment –reconstructive surgery, which will create a new nose. I am indebted to Dr. Yang for all she did to aid in my journey over the past many months. Unfortunately, due to location (my partner I moved to Central PA in July 2017); I am no longer able to see Dr. Yang. But she keeps in contact, checking up on me, making sure I remain healthy and strong. I hope to find another acupuncturist who is as caring about her patients, and as knowledgeable and practiced in acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, as Dr. Yang is. I doubt I’ll find someone as good.

Severe Chronic Lower Back Pain for 30 Years Avoid Back Surgery

From: Jim R.   Feb. of 2020

I have been seeing Dr. Yang since 2014. She has been treating my lower back pain and it has worked miracles. My initial appointment with her was at the suggestion of my wife as a last resort before back surgery. I had gotten to the point where I could not stand for more than 5 minutes due to the pain. I was reluctant to go at first and must admit, I thought there was no chance of acupuncture helping and a waste of time. Boy was I wrong! Since I’ve been seeing Dr. Yang, my pain has been 99% nonexistent and usually it’s because I wait too long between appointments.

I’m so happy with the results I go to see her once a month for maintenance. I moved in 2016 and now it takes me an hour to get to her office, but it’s a small price to pay for being pain free and avoiding back surgery.

Needless to say, I strongly recommend Dr. Yang!

Persistent Post-Surgical Lower Back Pain with Radiation Burning Pain in Both Lower Extremities for Three Years, Seeking Alternative Treatment to Avoid Further Surgery

From: Samuel K.  02/13/2018 9:27am

I began experiencing low back pain in my early 20s. As I aged (currently age 59), the frequency and length of painful episodes grew. In the Fall of 2015, I also began to feel a “heat” sensation radiating down into my lower right leg and foot. I was hoping this symptom would resolve on its own. However, when this didn’t happen after five months’ time, I decided to visit an orthopedic surgeon for evaluation. He prudently recommended conservative measures at the outset, including physical therapy, and epidural injections. However, with no material change in symptoms and following a second surgical opinion, I agreed to have a triple laminectomy at L2-3, L3-4 and L4-5 in August 2016.

Not only did this surgery fail to resolve my symptoms, but within a few months of surgery the leg pain grew significantly worse and was felt on both sides. This brought me back to the surgeon who requested additional testing with no material findings and ultimately referred me to a pain management specialist. Following two additional sets of epidural injections which afforded no relief, it was recommended that I consider using prescription medication to cope with the pain. This was precisely what I was hoping to avoid by submitting to surgery and other treatments. And so, I simply bore the pain with no relief in sight.

Then, while on a cruise with my wife this past December, I decided to try acupuncture for the first time. Unfortunately, the treatments did not provide much relief from my symptoms. However, the physician administering the treatments suggested that I find another specialist when I returned home as he felt it would be prudent to further explore acupuncture before concluding that it would not be helpful. I took his advice and began searching for an acupuncture specialist as soon as I returned home. That’s when I found Dr. Yang. The testimonials on her website were very impressive and, as I came to learn, genuine as well.

On my first visit with Dr. Ming Yang, she spent a significant amount of time learning about my medical history and lifestyle habits making several meaningful recommendations for change, many of which I have incorporated into my daily life. She immediately demonstrated herself to be an incredibly thorough clinician who truly cares about her patients.

Dr. Yang explained that her treatments would very likely be much different than what I had previously experienced and indeed this was correct. Specifically, she would be treating my entire person and not just the areas where I was experiencing pain. The goal was to rid my body of toxins so that my immune system could function at its highest level, reduce inflammation and restore mind-body balance. Importantly, she never claimed that she could eliminate my pain in its entirety. Rather the goal was to improve my overall wellbeing and, hopefully, in the process, produce a reduction in my pain levels.

Each of my treatment sessions begins with Dr. Yang asking several questions aimed at understanding my current state of being as well as an examination of my tongue and other areas. Dr. Yang takes pictures to show her patients what she is looking for and whether improvement can be seen over time. From this information she determines treatment for that day and explains what she is doing while administering treatment. A typical session for me has lasted 1 ½ hours.

After just my first treatment or two I noticed that I was sleeping much more soundly and that my energy levels were much improved. This has persisted throughout my course of treatment. After about five or six treatments, I began to see some improvement in my pain levels and at this time, following eleven treatments, I can honestly say that my pain has been reduced by about 80 or 90% and my overall sense of well-being is markedly improved. To be able to achieve this without medication is nothing short of miraculous in my opinion. It is upsetting to think that had I found Dr. Yang sooner, I may very well have avoided surgery.

Needless to say, I am now a believer in the benefits of Chinese medicine as practiced by Dr. Yang and strongly encourage anyone suffering with chronic health issues to give her an opportunity to help them improve their quality of life without dependency on prescription medications or surgical interventions.

Severe Lower Back Pain Radiated to Lower Left Leg, Healing & Recovery from Taking as Good as Possible Rest during Acupuncture Treatment

From: Josephine Di.   01/17/2018 12:25pm

I am writing this review to express my gratitude for the exceptional medical treatments received in Dr. Ming Yang’s Voorhees office.

In October of 2017 I began to experience an annoying pain in the middle of my left buttock. My first course of action is always to ignore all inconvenient nuisances, rationalizing that in a day or two they will simply disappear just as they appeared. Unfortunately, this was not to be, and the pain only got worse. After searching the internet, I discovered that I was experiencing sciatic nerve pain. By mid-October the pain was beginning to interfere with my daily life. At this time, I proceeded to my second course of action; taking over-the-counter pain medications with Ibuprofen. For a short time, these efforts made the pain more bearable. However, by the end of October I was experiencing excruciating burning pain in my lower left leg between the knee and my ankle whenever I stood up for any length of time. I was unable to get any relief while sitting, standing, walking, or sleeping. Being an active person, blessed with overall good health, I knew that I had to do something. This pain was debilitating, negatively impacting my life, and I was running out of patience. After some research, I decided to pursue acupuncture treatments. Dr. Yang came highly recommended, and her accomplishments are impressive.

My first session was in the beginning of November, and I was barely able to walk into her office. During my first treatment I was twitching in pain with every pressure point she touched and was unable to lay down on my back. Upon completion Dr. Yang’s recommendation was to get plenty of rest. The following day the pain was bearable and since I was hosting Thanksgiving for 13 guests, I had lots of shopping, cleaning, decorating, cooking and prepping. Needless to say, by the end of the two days I was in lots of pain. I was seeing Dr. Yang twice per week and her recommendation at the end of every session was to get plenty of rest and relax. With Thanksgiving around the corner and house guests coming from New York and Connecticut, there was no way I could rest.

After Thanksgiving, I asked Dr. Yang how many more sessions I would need for total recovery. She knew that I had failed to follow her recommendation for rest and made it perfectly clear that it was contingent on my willingness to rest. Under no uncertain terms she told me that if I did not heed her advice, not only would I not get better, but I could end up with permanent nerve damage, in which case neither western nor eastern medicine would be of any help, and I would just have to learn to live with this condition.
This reality check was a hard pill to swallow, living with this kind of pain was not an option for me. I decided to heed her sound advice and REST even if I felt great after each treatment. Today, December 27th, almost two months after my first session, and receiving two treatments weekly, I am pain free. Had I followed Dr. Yang’s recommendation to rest early on, I probably could have reduced my recovery time, the number of sessions, and the agonizing pain.

I cannot thank Dr. Yang enough for giving me my life back. My advice to anyone receiving treatments from Dr. Yang is to follow her recommendations the first time and save yourselves a lot of unnecessary pain.

With much gratitude,

Josephine D.

Severe Middle & Lower Back Pain & Sciatica Pain with Irregular Sleeping Style

From: Linda T.  01/12/2018 11:27pm

Dr. Ming Yang A perfect marriage of east meets west. At the first meeting, I was asked to take notes on her “lecture”. Dr. Yang instructed me on what and what not to eat. She helped coordinate which vitamins and minerals to take and when to take them. She monitored my daily water intake and insisted that I rest after each treatment and explained the medical reasons why. Dr. Yang Instructed me regarding the optimal hours of sleep and, best of all, she doesn’t rush me out of the office in a hurry to either get to the next patient or get somewhere else. There is education after each treatment. One day I went to her office because I was barely able to walk due to sciatica pain. After the treatment, I had no pain and Dr. Yang instructed me on how to prevent a relapse. Dr. Yang also treats herself w acupuncture.

Severe Lower Back Pain Shooting Down to Thigh, Generic Stenosis of Spine (Over 78 Years Old)

From: Richard L.  06/2017

Dr. Yang is terrific. I had severe leg pain centered in my left buttock. Injections by the medical staff gave me relief but only for a few weeks. I tried acupuncture out of desperation — I’m a skeptic. Dr Yang treated me, and after only 2 treatments, the pain was substantially mitigated. After 9 treatments, the pain has been gone for an entire year. She’s the best. I’m thankful that she’s right here in Center City at Jefferson Hospital.

Severe Post Surgery Back Pain with Sciatica

Post Surgery Lower Back Pain with Severe Numbness & Tingling, Multiple Joints Pain Caused by Rheumatoid Arthritis

From: Angie R.  11/2013

In 1993, I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. My symptoms were acute joint pain especially knees and hands and overall fatigue and depression. Over the years, my rheumatologist tried several different medications to alleviate my symptoms with some measure of success.

In 2007, I developed lower back and left leg numbness, tingling and pain, making walking for more than a few minutes excruciatingly painful. Activities of daily living were severely curtailed.

In 2010 an orthopedic spinal surgeon performed a lumbar fusion at L 3-4 and L4-5 along with decompression of the nerves. This surgery alleviated all my symptoms for 8 months. A side effect of the surgery was numbness of my left buttock and perineum along with bowel and bladder incontinence.

Subsequently, the symptoms I had prior to the back surgery returned and got progressively worse making walking or standing so painful again. The lumbar MRI showed the L2-3 level to be completely degenerated/crumbling impinging the nerves. The same orthopedic spine surgeon wanted to fuse this lumbar spinal level promising this would take care of my problems for good.

In an effort to avoid additional surgery I tried six weeks of Physical Therapy which did nothing to improve my symptoms.

By October of 2012, I could not stand to shower or cook, could not go shopping or walk my dogs. I couldn’t do any kind of housework. All I did was sit or lay down. Eventually could only lie on my left side.

Being a Registered Nurse, I understood what was going on and was told by all of my physicians, surgery was the only answer but every time I thought of scheduling the surgery, I became so anxious.

My last resort was acupuncture and found Dr. Yang on the internet. Because of her MD (China) and PhD in Neurosciences I knew she would understand what was going on with my back.

In November of 2012, I had my initial consultation with Dr. Yang. Because, I’ve had these symptoms since February 2011, she wasn’t optimistic that acupuncture would help. My nerves had been compressed for quite a while plus the surgery had disturbed the natural anatomical structure of my spine. Dr. Yang asked me my level of pain on a scale from 1 to 10 (ten being the highest) and I said 9 because I didn’t know how much worse it could get. The pain in my left leg was crippling—could not think or do anything except look for the nearest chair.

Initially, the twice weekly treatments did not improve my low back pain or left leg pain. By treatment 10, we were both feeling as though it wasn’t going to work but I kept going because I had such a strong feeling that this was where I was supposed to be. By treatment 14, I noticed a very slight improvement in the left leg pain and how long I could stand, so I kept going twice a week and over time, the pain in the left leg got better.

Dr. Yang also treated my whole body with acupuncture to reduce my whole-body swelling, pain, depression, anxiousness, GERD and detoxified my body.

For the past 20 years, I took 14 different medications to treat Rheumatoid Arthritis, Low Thyroid, High Blood Pressure, Depression, Anxiousness and GERD and am now down to 7 medications.

Each month my mobility improved, and pain level dropped and as of this writing, can now walk my dogs for 45 minutes every day, do all the grocery shopping and shopping at BJ’s or Lowes, play with my 2 grandsons, can take a shower standing up, lay in ANY position in bed. My overall body pain is NON-existent; my depression is much more manageable; the left leg pain and low back pain are mostly gone except if I overdue the activity and then the pain may be a level 1 or 2 until I sit down and then it goes away.

Dr. Yang has worked miracles for me!

I am writing this on June 24th, 2013, the three-year anniversary of my back surgery.

Severe Lower Back Pain Post Surgery, Over Stress

From: Curtis W.  April 27, 2014, 5:34:11 PM

Dr. Yang I appreciate how you have been patient and keep helping me little by little. I have had several significant health issues over the past 6 years, each life threatening. This included hospitalizations and emergency abdominal surgery. In addition, I had been dealing with chronic back pain for over 20 years, leading finally to back surgery about 14 months before I started seeing Dr. Yang. The back surgery helped but I still had continuous back pain, made worse from stress of my job. I have always been very healthy and active, but all these things were wearing me down to a point of deep discouragement and a point where I felt like I would have to quit my job. I work as a neuropsychologist in a medical rehabilitation hospital. So, I was attracted to Dr. Yang, not only because I have heard and read good things about her, but also because of her work as a neuroscientist. I have only seen Dr. Yang for less than 3 months, but in this short time, I have made significant progress. I was taking and trying all kinds of medications, to help with my pain, poor sleep, extremely low energy and discouragement. I was skeptical about anything that might help. But from my first visit with Dr. Yang, I felt like I found someone who cared, really understood all I was going through and what I needed. I have been impressed with her sincere concern for helping me to get better. I have appreciated how she looks and treats the whole person, not just symptoms. As I neuropsychologist I appreciated how well she understood how medications were affecting me, my body, brain and psyche. I saw her as being energetic and always trying to tell me what I should do. At first, I thought I was seeing another physician who was just trying to impress how important they were. But over time I have grown to know she really cares. Every time I call to change an appointment or have a question, she knows who I am, what I need and is willing to take time to talk. She has been helping me decrease and /or eliminate medications. My first step was improving my sleep, not relying on medication that did not give me the rejuvenating sleep I needed. As that improved, my pain and energy has also been following along. My pain has decreased, sleeping is much better, and my energy level is gradually improving. Thank you, Dr. Yang! I feel like I still have a way to go, and I still have my ups and downs, But I have come to trust that she is with me all the way until I get back to the healthy and active person I love to be.

Post Surgery Lower Back Pain & Chronic Abdominal Pain for Over 38 Years

From: Roy V.   On Tuesday, May 13, 2014, 3:46 PM,

I and my wife Anna Marie have been patients of Dr. Yang for nearly two years. We have both seen consistent improvement in our on-going medical conditions.  I have had back and leg pain, primarily in my right side due to several accidents. Once I was hit by a car while riding home from work and another time when I fell from a step ladder and landed on a kitchen countertop.  I have had a back problem since 1988 and have tried chiropractors, family physicians, three prominent specialists from Philadelphia and NJ medical centers. I’ve used pain centers, back injections, pain medications, and water therapy. None have given permanent relief. My family physical tried to find the solution for me and suggested I see a back surgeon and I did. One of the doctors in their practice listed several remedies and one had a stimulating device implanted permanently in my lower back… I said no to that. I spoke to the back surgeon in their group, and he said the procedure he used was 95% successful. I had initial great results, but the pain came back in 3 months. A doctor in that practice suggested see Dr. Yang because other patients had good results.  I was skeptical about any positive results because I had seen a acupuncturist once before and didn’t get much relief. Since starting treatment with Dr. Yang, I have seen much improvement in my pain levels. Dr. Yang is very dedicated to her medical art and consistently administered her treatments. She shows through her efforts her concern for the individual patient. I still have occasional flare ups with my pain, but I appreciate the quiet time I have in her office while receiving treatment. I do see other doctors to have checkups but have always been a person who takes the minimum in prescribed medications; Dr. Yang has allowed me to continue to do this. I would recommend her to all in search of an alternative to standard care.

Thank you.

Sciatica Pain & Body Weight Control

From: Stacey A.  11/16/2016

I highly recommend Dr. Yang. I developed sciatica on my left side. The pain was so bad, I couldn’t sleep at all for 2 straight nights, and I couldn’t stand up straight anymore. Within the first 2 visits with Dr. Yang, I felt more relaxed, and the pain dulled immensely. I’ve been to her 10+ times, and I feel better and better every time. I no longer feel the pain in my leg or back. She treated my whole body, and even included nutritional advice to help with weight control and energy levels. I strongly recommend her; you won’t regret it.

Sciatica Pain with Over Body Weight
From: Carol P.  02/15/2015

Dr. Ming Yang and her acupuncture treatments have helped me immensely.  For the past 9 months, I have had chronic pain in my right buttock and sciatic pain down my right leg due to a herniated disc. My problem initially started 4 years ago.  At that time, I opted for water physical therapy.  It took 6 months for the pain to subside.  I now decided to seek Dr. Yang’s help upon hearing of my friend’s son’s success from treatments with Dr. Yang.  He had amazing results in 5 weeks.  I have completed 9 treatments within the past 4 weeks and am PAIN FREE.  Acupuncture definitely works.  Dr. Yang’s acupuncture treatments are for whole body, including weight loss.  My sugar cravings have lessened.  I am losing weight and fitting into smaller pants.  Thank you very much Dr. Yang.

Chronic Lower Back Pain with Sciatica Pain

From: Linda K.  08/07/2013, 6:41am

I have been seeing Dr. Yang for total body acupuncture for my second year. I am 70 years of age and consider myself very active. In 2010 I was diagnosed with a bulging disc and sciatica and in a lot of pain.

I have experienced many different types of acupuncture before finding Dr. Yang. My first try was a Western practice. All needles were placed on my back along my spine. After 17 treatments, little relief was noticed. Physical therapy was working better.

During the winter months I am in Florida. Here I found an Eastern Acupuncturist. Their method was to treat the opposite side of your pain. Here I also experienced cupping.

My praise goes to Dr. Yang! Her detailed coverage of my medical history and explanation of the procedure gave me a feeling that I had found the right person. Total body treatment covers the way you feel mentally and physically.

At this time, I am seeing Dr. Yang for what I call “my monthly tune up”. My life is back to normal doing exercise, walking, biking and gardening without the constant pain and stress. Some days I forget that there is a problem. Being aware of your body and how the systems work together makes total body treatment make sense. Thank you, Dr. Yang.

Lower Back Pain & Over Stress

From: Darlene K. Thursday,   August 4, 2011, 6:43 PM

Just wanted to send you a little information regarding my treatments with you. I have had terrible low back pain for three years. I believe it all started after about 7 months of my pregnancy. I tried several different things to try and relieve the pain: trigger point injections, physical therapy, and of course, pain relievers. Nothing worked. Nothing. Then I went to see you and figured even though I absolutely despise needles, I would give acupuncture a try. Well, it worked. After about three weeks, I started to feel almost no pain. And then in another week or two, the pain was completely gone. But that is when I made the mistake of stopping. I thought because I felt so good, that I was immediately cured for good. I went for six weeks with no pain, and no treatments. And I acted as if I never had pain. I went about my daily activities and started lifting heavy things and then realized the pain came back. I should have listened to you because you told me that I should not have stopped acupuncture completely just yet. Instead of going twice a week, you told me that I should at least just go once a week and work my way through to maintain the relief. But I didn’t listen. So, I came back to you and your treatments have already started giving me relief again. I noticed that going twice a week works well for me. I also realized that I need to avoid lifting heavy things while I am under treatment. With treatments and rest, I am on my way to feeling 100% better.

I can’t thank you enough, Dr. Yang. You have given me my life back. I can now play with my daughter and do all of the things that I enjoy doing. And on a side note, acupuncture has definitely reduced my stress and anxiousness levels. My husband will attest to that 🙂

Lower Back Pain

From: Shirley L. Fri,   July 30, 2010, 7:12:57 PM

As you know, our meeting two years ago…was brief due to a pain in my leg that family doctors recommended surgery……

After having that surgery……. the pain persisted……. PLUS got much worse…. traveling to my groin, lower back and up to the middle of my back. Again, my primary sent me to PAIN MANAGEMENT……. if you remember…I was upset with taking so many mtrn……PAIN MANAGEMENT said it was part of the aging process and we just must CONTROL the pain…….and nrctc was prescribed…….it helped! Deadened the pain…but could not sleep…….my Podiatrist thought it was coming from my hip and asked for films to check it out……. was not bad.
PAIN persisted. I hated nights! for the next two years I lived a terrible existence. I work every day……sometimes dragging myself to work after being up all night……now not only was I on a Narcotic at night to relieve the pain…..but during the day I was taking mtrn ….and then a sleep aid to go to sleep at nights………Now I had three doctors…..the nrctic started to play havoc on my elimination system….so here was other problems starting that I never had! I never felt so alone misunderstood……. just could not take any more pills…

I reached out to you once again……. the very first session……I had no pain in my upper back….my legs still bothered me that night……. The 2nd treatment……. I am so overjoyed to say…. I was pain free………the first time in two years! I slept without any pills! which was a miracle! I am so overjoyed…with having found you again………I should have never left the first time…….

If anyone would like to talk to me about my experience with your service………PLEASE …feel free to refer them to me…I tell everyone I know………I hope, we are together for a very long time……….and I know I will continue to follow your lead……thank you Dr. Yang……. thank you …thank you.

Lower Back Pain Tendonitis of the Rotator Cuff with Severe Stress, PMS

From: Sharon D.  January 16, 2009, 2:27:03 PM

After becoming extremely disenchanted with the whole western health care system and the snail’s pace with which it moves, I decided to seek help elsewhere for the discomfort I was experiencing from tendonitis of the rotator cuff. After doing some research, I came upon Dr. Yang’s website and was very impressed with her credentials.

At my first appointment with Dr. Yang, I realized that I also needed help with some other issues I was experiencing; PMS (bloating and moodiness), extreme anxiousness and quite possibly depression from a few years of life experiences. I only realized this due to Dr. Yang being so thorough at my initial consultation. She doesn’t treat one body part or one ailment. She treats your body as a whole. She counseled me on better nutrition and trying to find the balance in all aspects of my life.

After just one treatment my anxiousness and depression had just about vanished. After a few more treatments the discomfort of my tendonitis and PMS had vanished as well.

Dr. Yang is a woman that I respect as a professional and as a person.

Scoliosis & Rheumatoid Arthritis

From Hannah P.  Wednesday, July 25, 2007, 2:28 PM

I am a 70-year-old female. I had Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and was hospitalized, in traction, for three years at age 10,11,12 and 13. My advanced arthritis severe flared up about 1999. I started six years of i.v. 5 medicines treatment. In 2004, 5, and 6, I had two hip replacements, and a left knee replacement. I had numerous facets, medial branch neurotomy and steroid injections with many rheumatologist and pain management specialists. I have taken many pain medicine and arthritis medications for yearsS. I’ve used the Duragesic patch for pain the last couple of years. My daughter successfully took her Scotch Terrier dog for acupuncture in early 2007 and suggested I try acupuncture for the pain in my lower back and hands. My lower back is severely curved. I also desired to lessen or discontinue the many medications I’ve been taking for years. After receiving consultation, advice, and superior acupuncture treatment from Dr. Ming Yang my arthritis pain was greatly relieved and I was able to cut back or discontinue several of my medications. I regret that I hadn’t tried acupuncture many years ago and believe Dr. Ming Yang would have been able to give me more successful permanent and lasting results.

Groin Ligament Pulling Pain

From: Linda S. Sunday,  November 4, 2007, 10:35:30 AM

I am a 62-year-old female who works full time and who is very active and exercise on a regular basis.  In April I took an exercise class, and pulled a ligament in my groin, I went for an MRI and physical therapy and was still in pain. I went to two different doctors for opinions and was told I probably had a tear.  I was in pain and could not really walk well.  My quality of life decreased, and I became frustrated, depressed, and stressed out.  The last doctor I saw suggested acupuncture.  I searched and was very fortunate to have found Dr. Yang. I drive close to an hour and a half each way to see Dr. Yang, and worth every mile I drive. She helped me with my pain, stress and depression.  I continue to see her.  She is a joy, very caring and I appreciate her help in getting my quality of life back.

Severe Tendinitis of Multiple Joints Due to Allergy of an Antibiotic

From: John K.  June 27, 2007, 1:07:44 PM

I am a 33-year-old healthy active male, who had an allergic reaction to quinolone antibiotics. Specifically which disabled me by causing tendonitis all throughout my body. Especially in my knees, hips, shoulders, and ankles. I was unable to walk for over 5 months after my last pill. At month 5 I saw Dr. Yang and she was wonderful. From the very first visit she spent time to listen and understanding my body and situation, unlike many doctors I have seen since my reaction to quinolones. From the very first acupuncture treatment I noticed improvements in my overall tendinitis. She also encouraged me to exercise/walk as much as I could to aid my body’s healing. With 2 months of treatments, I am much better now than I was prior to seeing Dr. Yang. Her acupuncture without a doughty speed up my healing process from this horrible reaction and I am on my road to recovery. I have seen several acupuncturists in the area and in Philadelphia, and no one took the time or helped me as much as Dr. Yang did not have her skill set. She has a special talent and truly cares for her patients.

Thank you again Dr. Yang!

Lower Back Pain & Stress

From: MaryJane B. Sunday,   June 3, 2007, 10:19:03 AM

I have been low back pain free, ever since treating with Dr. Ming Yang. I am an avid workout nut, usually exercising 7 days a week. Over the years, I never let my low back pain stop me from working out, but there were times it was quite painful. I have been to numerous chiropractors to treat this pain, but never got the relief I did with acupuncture. I had never really known enough about acupuncture to investigate it for myself. That was until I met with Dr. Yang. She took the time to explain all the benefits of acupuncture, and so I started my treatments. Within a short period of time, my pain lessens, and today I do not suffer with this pain. Since I had problems with my lower back for years, and chiropractic treatments did not alleviate it, I thought I would have to live with this pain. Not anymore. I really believe in acupuncture now, and I attribute all that to Dr. Yang. She has great credentials, plus she really cares about alleviating your suffering. She is so happy when any of her patients show improvement. I continue to recommend her to all my family and friends.

Dr. Ming Yang

Thank you for your remarkable treatment. I am 79 years old and have been in constant pain in both knees and legs for 3 years. I now sleep 8 hours per night soundly and again walk like a normal person. Also, after 3 treatments I discovered that two tumors I had on my left hand for over 10 years had all disappeared. Thank you for improving my life.

Severe Foot Pain & Stress

From: Melisa D. Wednesday,  March 7, 2012, 6:53AM

Dr. Yang has helped me far beyond what I had ever thought was possible. I injured my foot seven years ago when I was 21 years old. I was at the time a very active person and worked on my feet. Over time the pain and swelling in my foot intensified. I eventually got to the point where I could no longer run and was limited to other activities. I could still walk, however, the pain and swelling seemed to intensify the more that I was on my feet. Over the next few years, I saw many different specialists. None could even give me a diagnosis as to what had happened in my foot after the initial injury.

I had always had the mindset “no pain, no gain”. I would continuously work out, run and go to work because I thought it was more important to remain active. I simply thought that there was nothing that could be done to promote healing and/or decrease the pain, so I just took the pain medication as needed that had been prescribed to me.

For years I had taken large doses of pain meds. to help decrease swelling and pain in my foot. After a few years of this, I began to have stomach upset and GI problems. It came to the point where I could not tolerate normal foods such as coffee, acidic fruit, and frequently had stomach upset when taking pain medication. Little did I know that the pain meds (nsds) that I was taking for swelling and pain for my old sports injury could alter and deteriorate the lining of my stomach and intestines.

I drew the line and realized that I needed to try alternative methods of treatment after I was referred to a neurologist for pain management. The medication that I received at this point was to treat nerve pain. I tried my best to regularly take the medication and increase my tolerance. The side effects were horrible. I’d fall asleep in the middle of the day and felt always in an altered mindset. I could not fathom taking such medication for the rest of my life. Then, there was a suggestion to perform a nerve block so that I would feel no pain at all in my foot. I had lost faith in regaining the full function of my foot and was not interested in trying new techniques with adverse effects. In addition, I drew the line at trying further treatments that focused solely on pain management at this point because it became evident that the medications were doing little to treat the actual cause of the pain and were decreasing my overall health.

By the time four months ago when I had first seen Dr. Yang, I had tried numerous pain medications, damaged my stomach and still had no relief from my initial injury. After a few treatments with Dr. Yang, my pain was remarkably decreased and continued to further decrease with each additional treatment. Within 3 weeks, I had stopped taking all the medications for pain and swelling. I no longer needed to take advl, mtrn or other nsds to decrease the swelling that would accompany long periods of standing on my feet at work or to work out. My overall health was remarkably improved. I slowly increased my activity level and became better able to manage other stressors in my life. Slowly, I felt I was regaining function and could get back to being normal. I cannot imagine where I would be without Dr. Yang’s treatments. I currently take no medications for pain or swelling. I am now able to use my foot and be much more active than I have been in the past since the initial injury. The swelling is much decreased and most of the time I have no pain at all because I continue treatment for pain management.

My only regret since beginning treatment with Dr. Yang is that I waited so long before making an appointment. I highly recommend people experiencing pain try her methods as an alternative to traditional Western prescriptive pain management because of the effectiveness and lack of detrimental side effects. It is well known that all medications have side effects, however, this is a method that has no adverse side effects. It’s not a quick fix pill. Dr. Yang’s treatments are made to treat the entire body-not just an isolated part. I feel that my entire body is healthier since beginning acupuncture treatment with her, and I am very eternally grateful for the services that she provides.

Thank you,

Melisa D.

Severe Chronic GI Dis order – Constipation for Over 43 years with Daily Migraines, Weight Gaining & Severe Stress

Severe Chronic GI Disorders For Over 40 years, Severe Stress

From: Anna Marie V.   Dec 20, 2016, At 12:53 PM

I have been attending acupuncture sessions for several years. At first, I was very hesitant and felt it wasn’t really for me. My husband was already a patient with a problem that medicine could not help or solve even after surgery. After seeing the difference, it was making for my husband’s pain and quality of life, I thought I would at least try the treatment. My intestinal bowel condition was not treatable and was considered a medical problem that medicine wouldn’t be able to reach. After attending several treatments, it seemed to help me with the condition, and I am doing much better with this painful condition. Dr. Yang helped me to overcome the need for sleeping pills and I am no longer experiencing insomnia. After the treatment, I feel more energy in the following days and much more relaxed and able to deal with my bowel problem. Dr. Yang has helped me with her compassion and understanding. She is a dedicated person who is truly concerned about you. After getting to know her better, I found a fine person who cares and will work to help you conquer or lessen your problem so that your quality of life is much better. I would highly recommend her. I feel that her background and experience qualify her even more to help with difficult problems that medical science cannot solve or help.

Gastroparesis – Gastroparesis with Severe Stomach Bloating, Indigestion & PMS

From: CJ. Booker  Oct 23, 2015, at 8:02 AM

When I first came to Dr. Yang as a 41-year-old female, I was bloated daily for 2 years, diagnosed with gastroparesis from an unknown cause and not able to be cured.  I also had chronic knee pain from bone-on-bone arthritis.  In addition, I suffered from severe PMS symptoms including almost unbearable cramps from adenomyosis. I took tons of pain meds. (mtrn) and was even prescribed a narcotic pain medication for the bad days.  The monthly menstrual pain was so bad that I would be up at night pacing. Just a mess.  I was very doubtful that acupuncture could help me, but at this point I felt I had nothing to lose.  I told Dr. Yang that if she could actually help me that I would be amazed.

After 3 sessions, I didn’t feel much different.  I persisted with the treatments because I decided I would do 10 sessions to give it a good, fair try.  After the 4th or 5th session, I noticed I was not bloated and did not have any pain. Needless to say, I was amazed!  However, I started paying close attention waiting for my symptoms to return thinking I was just having a good week.  Week after week being treated with acupuncture, I continued to have very little pain and no bloating at all.  When I speak of Dr. Yang to my family, I refer to her adoringly as my “magician”.  I do not know what I would do without Dr. Yang.  She has me feeling completely normal again, in perfect health.  I had forgotten what that felt like.  I have not taken any pain medication whatsoever for over 2 months now.

Acupuncture has proven to me how powerful our mind; body connection really is.  Dr. Yang’s technique is unmatched in my opinion.  She is very caring towards her patients and truly wants to help.  She has taken the time to have long conversations on more than one occasion with me to try to help me and encourage me to reduce the stress in my life which is at the root of almost all my ailments.  I am so very thankful to have found Dr. Yang, she has me feeling fantastic! I am eternally grateful.

Acid Reflux & Constant Dry Cough

From: Dr. Lorraine I.  at 6:09PM, May 30th of 2016

Dear Dr. Yang, I don’t know how to thank you for all your compassionate care. I have suffered for several years from a constant dry cough from esophageal irritation due to GERD (reflux). I had a great deal of stomach acid every night and was often eating Tums all night. When I finally went to the gastroenterologist for help, endoscopy indeed showed that I had GERD. The doctor immediately put me on a proton pump inhibitor (prlsc) which helped with the cough and the acid but also caused some discomfort and GI side effects. I took the drug for one year until a few months ago, research was published showing that prlsc and drugs like it can cause early Alzheimer’s disease. I immediately sought a more holistic approach to my problems and signed up for acupuncture treatments from you. In just 6-8 treatments, I began to have a much more manageable level of acid reflux. My cough occurs only a few times a day now, usually in the morning after coffee. You also encouraged me to eat smaller meals in the evening, and not to lie down or sleep for several hours after eating. I have also tried to cut down on alcoholic drinks as you suggested. I did not think it possible that by following this advice and undergoing just 8 acupuncture treatments I could feel so much better, but I am now a believer. Surely, your Western and Eastern medical education combined with your neuroscience research have helped you formulate unique solutions to common but painful health issues like reflux. Thank you again for your continued care and dedication in striving to make a real difference in your patient’s wellbeing.

Acid Reflux, Dizziness & Stress

From: Susan G.  Apr 7th. of 2016

Dr. Yang has helped me tremendously! I’ve been to several doctors and alternative medicine practitioners on my path back to good health.  Some of them helped me to some degree, but never enough to give me hope of feeling “normal” again.  I suffered from dizziness and light sensitivity for two years before treating with Dr. Yang.  Finally, I have found relief! She also got me off of the acid reflux medicine I’d been on for several years!  That is amazing! Dr. Yang takes a lot of time to go over your medical history and cover all the issues. She is a very caring person and truly wants to help you get well.  I’ve been treating with Dr. Yang for seven months.  In the beginning I needed to see her twice a week.  Now I’m treating her once a week or every nine or ten days.  My issues were chronic for a long time, and it hasn’t been a quick process to get better, but it has been a steady progression of improvement.  I am feeling 90% better, which is wonderful!  I am very grateful that I found Dr. Yang!

GI Disorders with Diarrhea, Lower Back Pain, Over Body Weight, Severe Headache

From: Terry M.  Sunday, May 13, 2007, 5:45:01 PM

Terrible headaches from a Head Injury, Diabetes II and diabetic nerve pain in both feet, neuropathy pain and numbness on arms, legs and hands, Arthritis, lower back pain and sciatica nerve pain down both legs. Hypertension and an Aneurysm on my Aorta. For the past 2 months I have seeing Ming Yang for acupuncture my pain has reduced. Also, my A1C number has dropped from 7.9 to 6.7, Since I have so many diseases, I am constantly depressed and angry, but the acupuncture has also helped me to be much calmer. For many years I have taken so much medication, but acupuncture is a medicine without side effects to my kidneys and liver, so now I am taking less medications, which my doctors approved. I only wish I could have known Ming Yang years ago.

From: Christin F.  Mar 2 at 11:56 AM

My name is Chris, and I am 21 years old. I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in September 2013. I started coming to Dr. Yang due to pain in my wrists because of Carpel Tunnel Syndrome in October 2013. When I met with Dr. Yang, I also told her that I was just diagnosed with Diabetes. Dr. Yang stated she will not just concentrate on my wrist pain, but also my diabetes. When I started therapy, my AC1 was 9.5 and my triglycerides was 358. In December 2013, I had my blood tests for my Diabetes and follow up with my Endocrinologist. My doctor was very happy with me due to my AC1 dropping to 7.5 and my triglycerides to 53 (normal range) in such a short amount of time. Not only has my wrist pain dropped dramatically, but I believe this therapy helped my Diabetes get under control.

Asthma, Upper Respiratory Tract Infections, Severe Stress

From: Lisa. B.   at 12:41 PM, May 5th. of 2015

I went to Dr. Yang for Acupuncture treatment for Asthma for several months in 2015.  I am a 31-year-old female with a history of seasonal allergies who developed asthma in adulthood.  I have been prescribed inhaled corticosteroids for this condition but noticed several uncomfortable side effects of the inhalers including sore throat, acid reflux and increased incidence of upper respiratory tract infections. I first sought a consultation with Dr. Yang while I was suffering from a bout of bronchitis which lasted three weeks.

Dr. Yang made time to see me immediately and was very kind during our initial consultation. We discussed my western medical history, including current medications. We also discussed diet and lifestyle factors such as current levels of stress.  Dr. Yang had helpful suggestions regarding my diet and sleeping habits, and recommendations for foods and teas that can help me detox and which can improve lung function.

The acupuncture treatment itself helped to open my airways.  It is important to note that the treatment works better when following Dr. Yang’s suggestion for a high frequency of visits in the initial weeks of treatment.  Since developing asthma in the last few years, my lung function tests have generally showed 70% lung capacity for a woman of my age and weight, but after a week and a half of treatment with Dr. Yang my lung capacity was 130%!

I noticed several “side effects” of acupuncture treatment which included vastly improved digestive function, no acid reflux, and an improved ability to focus.  In the first few weeks of treatment, Dr. Yang lifted me out of a depression that I hadn’t realized I was in.

I am very grateful to Dr. Yang for helping me with my asthma in such a way that I am no longer dependent on corticosteroids for lung function.  Her diet and detox tips will help me through the course of my entire life.  Dr. Yang is highly skilled in the practice of acupuncture, and her treatment focuses on harnessing the body’s natural ability to heal itself.  I would like to recommend that insurance companies cover acupuncture treatment for asthma because of its ability to improve lung function without the negative side effects of long-term corticosteroid use, and its ability to improve overall well-being.

If anyone would like to speak with me further, I am happy to discuss my experience with acupuncture treatment for asthma with Dr. Yang. My email address can be obtained from Dr. Yang.

Sincerely,

Lisa. B.

Allergy with Severe Chronic Nose Congestion Lost Smell, Neck & Shoulder Pain

From: John W.  at 12:10pm, June 6th of 2015

I am experiencing amazing results ever since I was introduced to Dr Yang. I had severe sinus congestion for 30 plus years-severe seasonal allergies-I would get sinus infections 2-3 times a year. I haven’t been sicking all year. I am not affected by seasonal allergies. I train 1-2 x a day in my fitness facility. I had some stiffness in my right shoulder-after ONE visit it was gone. My body feels and looks amazing. No water retention, no aches or pains, my recovery time from workout to workout is so much shorter compared my non acupuncture days. I highly recommend Dr Yang to all my clients and co-workers.

Chest Tightness with Short Breath

Severe Chest Tightness, Short Breath Secondary to Pulmonary Hypertension, Joints Pain with Osteoarthritis & Gout

From: Arlene D.  August 2nd.of 2016 at 10:20AM

My name is Arlene. I have been treated by Dr. Yang for 10 treatments. When I came in for my first visit, I had severe shortness of breath and chest tightness secondary to PULMONARY HYPERTENSION. I have many health issues after receiving a diagnosis of Reynaud’s Disease. I have had many orthopedic surgeries. The latest surgery being on my right foot. Following 2 surgeries on the same foot, the Pulmonary Hypertension was exacerbated. I no longer was able to breathe without severe shortness of breath. I couldn’t manage steps without feeling weak and breathless. Almost passing out. I was so limited in any activity; I was getting depressed. My husband had to help with activities of daily living. I refused to leave home for fear I couldn’t breathe. This was affecting my entire life.
Dr. Yang examined me and told me I was toxic from so much medication. She also said I was malnourished. I had no appetite because of meds and total fatigue. After 10 treatments, I am a new woman. Full of hope. Full of energy Full of gratitude. Dr. Yang has given me my life back.

My regular acupuncturist would not treat me. He said he never treated LUNG DISEASE. I am a retired RN with 43 years’ experience. I have received acupuncture for years.
Dr. Yang is my miracle. She is a TCM doctor, as well. She has helped me nourish my body with advice on proper diet- and I do listen! I am recommending MY special doctor to treat your pain, stress, post-surgical problems, and LUNG DISEASE. Plus, many, many more problems.
Thank you for this privilege of talking about Dr. Yang.

Chronic Coughing

Severe Coughing, Sinus & Respiratory Infection, Chest tightness, Extremely Exhaustion

From: Roy V.  July 10th. of 2016

I am writing to express my thanks to Dr. Yang for her continuing efforts to address my health concerns. I and my wife have been patients of Dr. Yang and have received caring attention to our health concerns. I developed sinus and respiratory infections this past winter which led to severe coughing. Medical doctors addressed the infections, but Dr. Yang was able to treat the severe coughing.

For several months I would lose half the night’s sleep for three hours at least two or three nights a week. The incidents would include running nose, sneezing, and necessitate continued blowing of my nose. It left me exhausted, my chest and lungs raw, and extremely tried.

Dr. Yang treated me for the condition and now after 4 months of treatment I now am not coughing, can sleep through the night without any problems. I still am receiving treatment for the condition but I’m sure the problem has been largely addressed with her help. I am thankful for her help and would recommend her treatment to anyone with similar problems.

Respectfully,

Dizziness Vertigo Chronic Motion Sickness

Severe Dizziness with Light Sensitive, Acid Reflux & Stress

From: Susan G.  Apr 7, 2015

She also got me off the acid reflux medicine I’d been on for several years! Yang!

Chronic Motion Sickness, Hearing Loss, Tinnitus, Migraine, Anxiousness, Strss

From: Lauren A.  September 28, 2012, at 12:04 PM

After the birth of my second child, I began to suffer from chronic motion sickness, hearing loss, hyperacusis (noise sensitivity), tinnitus and head/neck pain, all of which were severely compounded by my menstrual cycle. Over the course of the last year, I sought the care of doctors at the Jefferson University Center for Balance and Hearing Loss, the Jefferson University Headache Clinic, and a Jefferson University Reproductive Endocrinologist, all of whom prescribed me an endless list of medications and tests, but who were never able to give me a definitive diagnosis or prognosis. All my medical tests and scans were clean, though I continued to feel extremely ill and to lose my hearing. It was unclear if there was something wrong with my ear, my head (migraines) or my hormones (or all three!) and no physician was able to piece together the interrelation of my symptoms, let alone treat the cause.

A year later, I was about to give-up hope when I happened upon Dr. Ming Yang and her acupuncture practice. I was extremely tentative about acupuncture, both because I knew very little about Eastern medicine and because my insurance didn’t cover any costs. In my initial consultation with Dr. Ming Yang, she was certain she could help me and convinced me to try her methods. (Before my first treatment, I was white knuckling the table, thinking I was wasting my money and doubting that after all the highly qualified doctors I had seen, Dr. Ming would not be able to help me.)

Unbelievably, after ONE treatment, the motion sickness was greatly reduced. After seven treatments in three short weeks, my symptoms improved by 75 – 85%. Following Dr. Ming’s advice to eat certain foods, take certain vitamins and avoid supplements and medications that I had previously tried, I went from being unable to sit in my daughter’s music class because I felt so motion sick, to singing and dancing with her. My head and neck pain are completely gone, and my tinnitus is dampened a great deal. It is my hope and belief that her therapies will also help to prevent further sudden hearing loss.

Dr. Ming has given me my life back and she has given my family their mother back. In addition to resolving most of my worst symptoms, I feel extremely energetic and happy, and I take no medications. Her therapy and her advice are gold and I highly recommend her practice.

Severe Chronic Fatigue with Poor Memory for Over 7 Years

From: JC  Mar 09, 2016

I was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome in 2009. This is a disease. I slept an additional 4 – 6 hours during the day, pain in the joints, back, feet, sore throats that would last weeks, brain fog, unable to pull words from my memory while having a conversation etc. I have been seeing Dr. Yang for a few weeks, and after the first visit, I noticed a big change. Each treatment brings me closer to my recovery. Dr. Yang is an amazing doctor, and a beautiful person!

Insomnia, Chronic Fatigue, Anxiousness with Over Body Weight & Pains

From: Barbara S. Sunday, July 29, 2007, 11:52:42 AM
Subject: testimonial

Hi, Ming!

I’ve never suffered from a serious chronic condition, but over the past few years, I’ve been experiencing low energy, insomnia, weight gain, and a variety of aches and pains—all of which I attributed to menopause, or perhaps just plain aging.  Finally, my overall condition led to me seek the help of Dr. Ming Yang, with quite satisfying results.

After a thorough assessment, Dr. Yang began an overall treatment designed to improve my energy level and sleep habits.  After about a month of weekly treatments, I began to sleep well, and feel relaxed and alert instead of enervated. In addition, many of the so-called effects of “aging” (including hot flashes, fluid retention, and joint pains) began to diminish.  Today, after 8 months of treatments, I feel more vitality than I have in years, and my overall well-being is continuing to improve.

I continue to receive weekly treatments, and I would highly recommend acupuncture—and specifically treatments from Dr. Yang— to anyone who is interested in maintaining health and well-being throughout all stages of life.

Brain Foggy Chronic Fatigue, Stress, Anxiousness

From: Richard k. 1/2/2015

To Whom it May Concern:

I have been a patient of Dr. Ming Yang since approximately April 2014.  I consulted with Dr. Yang because I was physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausted and constantly sick.  Over the past year, I had battled two chronic sinus infections and severe chronic bronchitis, brain fogginess, weakness, heart palpitations and lack of energy.  I couldn’t seem to rebound and get better.  My job as a special education teacher with the severe special needs’ population was very stressful and left me extremely depleted and without energy.

Dr. Yang conducted an in-depth and comprehensive interview with me. She instructed me to eliminate harmful toxins from my diet and helped me manage my mental and emotional wellbeing.  I began intensive acupuncture treatments for the first few months.  As my symptoms started to improve, the treatments were faded to once a week and then eventually once every two weeks.

I am happy to say that over the past nine months, my health has improved dramatically.  I no longer experience any of the previous illnesses and my energy levels have also increased.  I am also better able to handle the stresses and demands of my job.  Dr. Yang has improved my quality of life dramatically.  I would enthusiastically recommend Dr. Yang to anyone.  Thank you, Dr. Yang!

Insomnia, Water Retention, Chronic Fatigue, Neck, Back and Knee Pain

From: Renee B.

I have suffered from hives for about 6 months and had tried a lot of different medications and supplements to cure it but to no avail. I also had other problems such as water retention, insomnia, low energy level, knee pain, neck pain, back pain and allergy. I did some research and found Dr. Ming Yang. She is a wonderful and caring person. She started treating my hives along with my other problems and after a few treatments my hives were greatly reduced, and I felt so much more energy. My water retention problem was improved, I slept better, and my mood has also changed. I never feel this energetic and excited for as long as I can remember. These treatments not only cured my hives completely, but it also improved my other problems as well. For those who suffer from hives or other health problems, I highly recommend getting acupuncture treatments from Dr. Ming Yang. She is truly an angel sent from above to help people. Not only she is smart and gifted, but she also has a good heart and is very generous and loving to everybody. I feel so fortunate that God has introduced me to her, and I wish her all the best.

Bladder Out of Control

Interstitial Cystitis Caused by Severe Chronic Anxiousness

From: Kelly E. Thursday,  April 26, 2007, 6:50:37 PM
Subject: testimonial from Kelly E.

For many years I have suffered with Interstitial Cystitis. This is a disease of the bladder lining with no known cause or cure. The symptoms mock those of a urinary tract infection. After visiting numerous Urologists, I was told there are limited ways to treat this disease and I would have to learn to live with the pain. As an avid runner, mother, wife, and full-time employee, this did not settle well. After watching an episode of Oprah on alternative medicine, I decided to give acupuncture a try. I found Dr. Ming Yang in my town. She possessed amazing credentials and was pleasant to speak with on the phone. We scheduled my first appointment, where she thoroughly explained the procedure and theory behind it. By my second and third treatment, I had amazing progress. I was urinating less, but more importantly, I was not having any bladder flare ups. I am continuing my treatments but not as frequently. I can say I am now 100% pain free. I have reduced my medicine dosage by 75% and feel fantastic. Dr. Yang is a true angel with a gift. She has impacted my life and family in a way I can never explain. I will forever be thankful to her.

Generic Bladder Out of Control and Constipation

From: Gertrude K. Thursday,  September 13, 2007, 5:36:52 PM

Hello Dr. Ming Yang,

I am an 81-year-old female and I’ve had remarkable results due to your acupuncture treatments. Every week has brought new discoveries as to how my health is improving under your expert care. I’ve had trouble with constipation and now I’m not using any laxative supplements and having more frequent and productive bowel movements daily (one or two per day).  I’m also sleeping much better as my bladder control has greatly improved. I find I’m getting more sleep with less disturbance as I do not need to go to the bathroom often during the night. I’m sleeping better overall and enjoying deep sleep during the night. Two other remarkable improvements have surfaced of late… my toenails are now easier to trim, and my lungs are better… I’m not getting out of breath when I take walks with my daughter. My energy level has improved, I’m more comfortable and feeling lighter.

Thank you ever so much for all the help you continue to bring me… My quality of life has definitely improved!

Sincerely,

Gynecological Disorders: Irregular Menstruation, Pre-menstruation Syndrome (PMS), Menopause with Hot Flashes

Hot Flashes, Anxiousness, Chest Pain, Skin Disorder

From: cp Apr 19, 2020

I was searching for help with a skin issue, and I read Dr Yang’s Reviews on the Internet but was a bit skeptical about acupuncture. I finally went a year later to see her, and the experience was quite rewarding. Dr Yang is proficient at her craft and the treatment was therapeutic, as it was very effective in reducing my anxiousness, depression, chest pains and hot flashes after four sessions. More work is required to address the skin issue, but acupuncture has worked well to balance the body. She was always very patient and provided valuable information that worked in conjunction with the therapy. Great experience! So, feel free to give it a try. Excellent Interaction with patient. Kindness, Nutritional advice.

Menopause with Frequent and Intense Hot Flashes, Wrist Pain and Hip Pain Caused by Stress & Anxiousness

From: KM Davis  Dec 21 of 2019

I began acupuncture appointments with Dr Yang initially to seek help with managing my frequent and intense hot flashes due to menopause. Her treatments eliminated my hot flashes in just 4 sessions — I now only need to have sessions once every two weeks to maintain. I’ve not had any hot flashes for 8 months now. I also had her treat my lower back pain, hip pain (due to arthritis), and digestion — all of which have been significantly improved because of her treatment. She is extremely knowledgeable about acupuncture and counsels me on other lifestyle changes. I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking an acupuncturist.

Pre-menstruation Syndrome, Gastroparesis, Severe Anxiousness, Stress

I took tons of mtrn and was even prescribed a narcotic pain medication for the really bad days.  The monthly menstrual pain was so bad that I would be up at night pacing. Just a mess.  I was very doubtful that acupuncture could help me, but at this point I felt I had nothing to lose.  I told Dr. Yang that if she could help me that I would be amazed.

Acupuncture has proven to me how powerful our mind; body connection really is Dr.

Painful Menstruation, PMS, ACNE, Overeating, Severe Anxiousness & Stress

From: Cheryl K.  Friday, August 15, 2008, 11:13:50 AM

Looking back at this ongoing experience I can’t help but wonder how I lived for so long in so much pain.  When you’re 23 years old and feel your world is crumbling around you, there is something wrong. Before my treatments with Dr. Yang, I felt acupuncture was my last hope, but had no idea it would have such a positive, life changing effect on my health.  For the past three years I’ve been suffering with horrendous symptoms that I honestly wouldn’t believe a 23 yr. old had. Just to name a few of my symptoms – mood swings, anger, depressions, anxiousness, uncontrollable appetite, water retention, sweats, painful and light periods, dryness, heart palpitations, and severe acne. PMS, acne and unexplainable symptoms during my cycle were taking over my life. During this time of the month, I had no control over my bodily functions and had debilitating pain that left me in a trance of paralyzing pain.  I tried everything, and it was to the point that my Gyno thought I was crazing.

After only a couple treatments with Dr. Yang my symptoms started to get less and less.  After 2 months of treatment my acne cleared drastically, and my PMS was dwindling down to nothing.  Now with 6 months of treatment not only is my complexion flawless, I have no PMS, and very little cramping.  I plan to continue treatment because it has given me my life back.

Dr. Yang is amazing.  I never met a doctor that truly cares and takes the time to listen.  She is patient, understanding, compassionate and makes solid relationships. Dr. Yang is an angle sent down from heaven, and I feel privileged to be one of her patients.

I used to always hear miracle stories and wonder why I couldn’t find anything out there for me that had real results.  Now, I can finally be one of those people, and it’s all because of Dr. Yang!

Extreme Menstruations, Emotional Stress with Skin Disorder, Anxiousness & Stress

From: Rosana C.  02/07/2014

I am a 39 yr. old woman that has suffered from extreme menstrual symptoms, melasma & emotional stress for yrs. I was told by 3 gynecologists that my only options for the menstrual symptoms were Merena or a hysterectomy. Since neither were viable options for me, I began thoroughly researching alternatives when I found acupuncture & the practice of TCM. Surprisingly, research showed the positives consistently outweighing the negatives with supporting testimonies that were irrefutable, so I began seeing Dr Yang in mid-January. I have had 8 sessions & haven’t felt better in years! My menstrual symptoms have improved by 75%, my stress the associated aches and pains have reduced by 50% and although nominal, my melasma is lightening and diminishing in some areas which makes me extremely hopeful! Especially since doctors don’t know the cause or have a cure yet. Although expensive, I have and will continue to recommend Dr Yang for her 23 yrs. of experience & inimitable experience.

Heavy Menstruation & TMJ

From: Anna R.  2:02pm 12/29/2014

In Spring of 2013 I began to feel a sharp pain on the side of my head right in front of my left ear. I assumed it was an ear infection but decided to pay a visit to my family.

doctor. Her initial diagnosis was either TMJ or Trigeminal Neuralgia. She ordered X-Rays and prescribed pain meds. lyrc. The X-rays did not show any findings and the lyrc gave me horrible side effects, so I decided not to take it anymore.

I then went to an ENT doctor, and he did not find any damage or blockage in my ear and suggested I visit my dentist for TMJ. My dentist suggested expensive braces or have an uncomfortable mouth guard fitted for me. I did not like either option or continued to suffer extensive pain that would last 4-6 hours. I was taking 800 mg of ibprnfn and had to travel with a heating pad wherever I went. It affected my work and home life. I could not concentrate at work and as a result, my performance was not to my capability. My family at home would see me in tears or lying in bed with a heating pad for hours. I would miss sitting for dinner with them and family time before bedtime.

In October of 2013 my pain level increased to a point where I could not stand on my feet and forced me to sit or lay down. I popped 800 mg of ibprnfn 3 times a day to help with the pain. I went to the ER one weekend when I could not deal with the pain any longer. A cat scan did not reveal a diagnosis and the ER doctor suggested I continue the Lyrc and be treated as if I had Trigeminal Neuralgia. I suffered the side effects, and the medicine did not help.

I then went to a Neurologist and had an MRI done, which did not reveal a diagnosis. The Neurologist did not have any suggestions other than retaking the MRI in 6 months.

I was suffering with this pain for over a year at the time and felt like my life would be living with constant pain and this caused me to be depressed. I could not afford the braces and considered the mouth guard to be fitted. At the same time, I visited a Pain Management doctor and was given steroid shots directly in my jaw.

These shots were painful and helped for about 4 months, but the pain would return. I received a second session of shots, but the pain continued, and I was in despair after thinking I had found a solution to my pain. At this point, the pain was almost every day and lasted 6-8 hours, a pain medicine and a heating pad managed the pain to a small degree, but it was always there.

One day after I experienced a terrible day of pain at work, my husband suggested I see an Acupuncturist. He researched the Internet and found Dr. Yang. I spoke with Dr. Yang and explained what I was going through, and she made me an appointment the very next day. I was not hopeful of good results since I had tried so many doctors and treatments along with not understanding the concept of Acupuncture.

Dr. Yang took the time to listen to my experiences with the pain, my sleeping and eating habits and how I live my life overall. She immediately suggested sleeping earlier and drinking lots more water along with adding different types of food into my diet. I have had a sleeping problem for as long as I can remember. I either could not fall asleep for hours or fell asleep immediately and woke up hours before I had to. I also had very irregular and heavy menstrual cycles due to being pre-menopausal. I was taking lystda monthly to help with these issues.

Dr. Yang’s process of treating the entire body as opposed to a specific area has changed my life. After just 7 sessions of holistically acupuncture treatment, my pain decreased immensely from over scale 10/10 to 0-1/10. The pain continued to decrease on a weekly basis and would last a much shorter time. My first menstrual cycle after my sessions was a normal cycle with minimal issues and I am no longer taking medication to help with my cycles.

I have been visiting Dr. Yang since October 10th of 2014 and now go every two weeks for maintenance sessions and have not had any pain since the end of October. I sleep 8 hours every night and drink 60 ounces of water a day. My skin tone is healthier, my menstrual cycles are normal, my anxiousness level is low and most of all I am pain free. My family is not only happy that I am back to what I used to be, but I am also improved and healthier due to better sleeping and eating habits.

I cannot thank Dr. Yang enough for encouraging me to keep up my habits and to be confident that her treatments do work!

Over Body Weight & Severe Stiffness, Foot Pain After Numerous Hormones Therapies From: Shannon L.

I’m at 42 YO female, overweight with numerous health issues. I have seen Dr. Yang for 8 sessions now. She has extensive knowledge in her practice and is very compassionate about helping her patients. I came to see Dr. Yang for some very serious stiffness & pain issues due to an autoimmune disease. I also am trying for a baby, but Western medicine has deemed me unable to have any more kids (I have one). My mobility was severely compromised for years. Dr. Yang has successfully treated me for this as well as other secondary issues. My pain and stiffness are gone. My general sense of wellbeing is definitely strong. I didn’t go in thinking that would happen but what a nice surprise. I just wanted the stiffness to subside. I now sleep more soundly, which helps my energy level and focus ability has clearly gone up. My stomach is less bloated and physically looser which is an improvement from the hard stomach I got after numerous ivf drugs/hormone therapies over the last few years. I hope that the overall wellness I am feeling will assist me in having another child. Thank you, Dr. Yang.

Shingles Pain with Severe Stomachache, Stress

From: Gemma F.  Nov.18th. 2015

Dr. Ming Yang was a great help to me.  After contacting Shingles and going to my primary care physician I took the prescribed med without helping. I went online to find what I could do on my own and in doing that burned the lining of my stomach. I found Dr. Yang online and called her at 10 pm on a Sunday night thinking to just leave a message for Monday morning, but ten minutes later she called, and I had an appointment the next day. She squeezed me into her schedule because she thought I sounded in trouble.  Because of my stomach pain I couldn’t eat and was still miserable with the Shingles.  Dr. Yang helped me very much and a few weeks later I am free of the shingle pain, and my stomach is back to normal, and I am eating well. Dr. Yang is a very caring person who takes her profession very seriously, in that she wants to help you feel better. That is her focus. And her staff is as compassionate as she is. I was very lucky to have found Dr. Yang.

Skin Disorder-Psoriasis & Sciatica Pain

From: Ann Marie S.   Sunday, May 12, 2013, 3:37 PM

I just want you to know the miracle of acupuncture for any number of body difficulties. Originally, in such acute pain that I could not walk, I contacted Dr. Ming Yang. I had completed the physical therapy afforded by insurance and the insurance company no longer would cover the epidural shot which had helped me two years earlier. Dr. Yang took me the very day of my call with complete compassion for the sciatica pain I was experiencing. For weeks I could not walk without a cane. After twelve treatments of acupuncture, I was gradually able to walk without the cane and finally experienced no pain. I am back to regular activities.

When I met with her, she also immediately recognized my skin disorder: psoriasis. After a life altering event twenty years ago, I developed psoriasis so severe that it covered my entire body: I was constantly plagued with a prickly itching; embarrassing shedding of skin cells and bloody patches which stained my clothing, furniture, and sheets. After shaving my legs, I would be covered with band aids. I had a back scratch upstairs, downstairs, in my car and at my place of work. None of the expensive self-injections were covered by my insurance. It was a complete surprise that she could also treat my skin disorder disabling problem.

Nothing is fixed with one treatment. Trust Dr. Yang: it takes more than one treatment to overcome years of problems. Acupuncture has been my savior! The benefits are immeasurable.

Thank you, Dr. Ming Yang!

Skin Disorder- Melasma, Severe Stress

From: Rosana C.  2013

My menstrual symptoms have improved by 75%, my stress/anxiousness and the associated aches and pains have reduced by 50% and although nominal, my melasma is lightening and diminishing in some areas which makes me extremely hopeful! Especially since doctors don’t know the cause or have a cure yet. Although expensive, I have and will continue to recommend Dr Yang for her 23 yrs. of experience & inimitable experience.

Skin Disorder- Dermatographia

From: Lorren W. 2009

I’ve been seeing Dr. Yang for over 3.5 years and feel she’s done WONDERS for my skin condition. Several years again I was diagnosed with a severe case of dermographia which for me caused swelling/redness of my skin when in contact with pressure and/or heat. I had been taking medication (with little other option or real relief) before I found Dr. Yang. From the start, she me feel like there was hope again and assured me that I would see results and I have…lots of results!! I still have to maintain visits and watch what I eat, but we discuss those things. I have found that there’s no quick fix and sometimes years of damage take years to mend!! Dr. Yang cares and is there to make a difference! I would and have recommended her services!

Skin Disorder-Rash with Severe Itchiness, Stress

From: Maria R.  Sunday, July 22, 2007, 7:41:43 AM

A few years ago, I came down with a skin rash on the neck which soon spread all over my body. I experienced severe itching every single day and pretty much relied on medication, both oral and topical. The itching was so severe that interaction with my family was affected. No doctor knew what caused my skin to suddenly have the symptoms of constant itchiness and inflammation. They prescribed oral, topical steroids and antibiotics. They told me to use unscented soap and lotion. Everything they told me I bought and did to no avail. I decided to seek alternative treatment because I was desperate and thought of how my body was being affected by all the medicine that I was taking. Just after my first acupuncture treatment, my extremely red, itching skin has dramatically improved. The itchiness was less intense, so I gave up taking oral and topical medicine. Aside from that, I can sleep better and have more energy. At present, I experience occasional itching, but it goes away in a couple of minutes. It’s great to feel “normal” again!

I would just like to say thank you to Dr. Ming Yang. When all else failed, her expertise, caring attitude and faith in the outcome helped me see that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Smoking Cessation

From: Dianna G. Wednesday,  June 27, 2012, 8:33 AM

Dr. Yang,

I apologize for taking so long to provide this follow up but I wanted to let you know of my success following your treatment. I am happy to say that after 2 months, I am still smoke free and do not even think about smoking cigarettes anymore. It is truly amazing how wonderful I feel. Of course, quitting smoking was my number one goal, but you told me you wanted to treat the triggers that made me smoke, such as anxiousness. I can honestly tell you that I am so much more relaxed and calmer, even in situations that would normally set me off. I truly believe that treating my anxiousness was most important in helping me to quit smoking. I hope you will share this with other patients who also WANT to quit smoking. I had tried so many ways to quit, but always found myself reaching for a cigarette at the first signs of stress and anxiousness. I can tell you that I am not unlike most people in that respect. I hope to visit you again soon to make sure I remain balanced. I can’t thank you enough! You have saved my life!

With warmest regards

Smoking Cessation

From: Ejaye   09/12/2006

I initially sought the aid of Dr. Yang to help me cut back and eventually quit smoking. With her acupuncture treatment and instruction, I quickly reduced my intake from one and half packs a day to only three cigarettes. Never has my goal seemed more attainable and I have Dr. Yang’s approach and keen eye for detail to thank. The difference between Dr. Yang’s methodology and that of other practitioner is her scope of attention. Dr. Yang’s techniques focus solely on the root of the affliction, rather than the symptoms of it. What gave impetus to my cravings for nicotine was job-related and social anxiousness. Dr. Yang’s treatment focused largely on the alleviation of stress as well as quelling my nicotine cravings. More importantly, Dr. Yang instructs her patients how to enhance the positive effects of treatment, ensuring that treatment leads to self-suffering and greater well-being, not more treatment. My energy level is significantly higher, my ability to cope with daily stress has improved and my nicotine cravings have significantly diminished. I’ve been a habit user of anti-anxiousness/anti-depression medication. I no longer rely on medication to control these problems. I highly recommend Dr. Yang

Post Stroke

Post Stroke with Torticollis of Neck

From: Ragnhild M.   09/2012

William H. M. is a 78-year-old male who sustained a CVA on May 2, 2010. He was on life support for one week. He had multiple complications after his CVA to include dysphasia, pneumonia, feeding tube placement dense hemiplegic of his left upper and lower extremities, left field cut and neglect, painful neck and left upper extremity. PMHX includes pacemaker, DVT, diabetes, CAD CABG, IVC Filter, a fib, bowel tumor resection and prostate cancer.

Mr. William M. had the stroke while visiting his son in Jackson, NJ, he was taken by ambulance to Centra-State Hospital in Freehold, NJ; after their evaluation he was helicopter to Capital Health in Trenton, NJ, where he stayed for two weeks. At that time, a feeding tube was inserted as well as his being placed on a respirator. When he left Capital Health, he was sent to Marlton Rehabilitation Hospital in Marlton, NJ for another two weeks. During these four weeks, he was unable to eat because of his inability to swallow. He received physical, occupational and speech therapy at Marlton Rehab. He was then transferred to Wiley Mission Rehab Facility in Marlton, NJ where he stayed for 3 months. He again received physical, occupational and speech therapy, and within his three months stay he was able to slowly regain his swallowing ability and was able to eat whole food when he left. Even with all the therapy he received Mr. Moyer still had a problem with a painful neck and tilting to the right.

After arriving back at his home, he received home therapy for about two weeks and then received outpatient therapy at the Marlton Rehab Outpatient facility for another two weeks. During that time, he developed a hematoma in his right groin, so his outpatient therapy ceased. During the past two years he has been admitted to the hospital with seizures, congestive heart failure and a blockage in his colon.

His pain management doctor, Trina Lisko, suggested we try BTX injections for his neck. He had the five injections at three-month intervals. The first four injections helped the spasticity in his neck, but the fifth injection did not help so Dr. Lisko suggested we find a good Chinese acupuncturist. We asked one of our Chinese neighbors and she suggested Dr. Ming Yang.

We have been seeing Dr. Yang since April 5, 2012, at first, we saw her three times a week but then cut it down to twice a week. Dr. Yang shows a genuine interest in her patients, she not only treats his neck pain and spasticity, but she also treats the whole body. She detoxicated his system, Mr. Moyer was on quite a few different medications, but has slowly come off a nerve pain medication. We are hopeful that in the future he will be able to reduce some of his other medications. Also, prior to his acupuncture he had difficulty swallowing water, but the acupuncture has helped so now he can swallow water without coughing. Dr. Yang always emphasizes how important it is to drink water and encourages him to drink more.

Since we started the acupuncture Mr. Moyer’s neck has gone from almost touching his right shoulder about a 10-degree angle to about an 85-degree angle. We plan to continue with the treatments and hopefully his neck will go to a 90-degree angle, and he will be able to sustain it with less treatments.

Tinnitus, Vertigo & Motion Sickness

Seeking Treatment Options for Tinnitus (Constant Ringing in the Ear), Stress

From: The Philly Dentist  02/14/2018 8:19PM

I developed tinnitus, ringing in the ear, about 4 months ago which was brought on by my emotional state after the passing of my daughter. I also was having problems getting to sleep and with anxiousness. Conventional medicine had no treatment options for the tinnitus, so I sought out acupuncture as an option and was referred by my neighbor to Dr. Yang. Dr. Yang fully evaluated my situation and was very honest in saying that tinnitus is very hard to treat and can take a while to see improvement. After 2 months of treatment, I have improved markedly in reducing stress and better sleep. The tinnitus has improved slightly Dr. Yang’s approach to treating the whole body and her high degree of personal interest in getting you better is what is comforting be me that my symptoms will improve with time. Her experience and knowledge of the discipline of acupuncture is very apparent from the first visit.

Tinnitus with Fulling of Water Sensation, Partial Loss of Hearing with Stress

From: Joseph K.

I’m a 54-year-old male and I have been suffering with Tinnitus (ringing noise in the ear) for several years. In the past year my tinnitus has gotten worse, to the point that I needed to get help before it became unbearable. People describe it as ringing in the ear but mine is actually a high-pitched steady tone. The left ear isn’t as bad as the right ear and the right ear developed a feeling of being full as if it were full of water. I understand that the full feeling isn’t unusual.

Visits to my ENT doctor for exams, hearing tests, and an MRI to rule out a tumor resulted in being told that there is no known cause or cure and I’ll have to live with it. The hearing tests did reveal some loss of hearing, mostly in the right ear.

While searching the internet for a possible cure I found Dr. Ming Yang who performs acupuncture for all sorts of ailments. After investigating the art of acupuncture, I decided to give it a try. My first visit with Dr. Yang for consultation and first treatment was interesting and made good sense. Dr. Yang treats the entire body, but my treatment focuses on my ears. I noticed a difference in my left ear after the first visit. By the second or third visit the left ear was about normal with little or no ringing. After a few more visits the full feeling in the right ear began to fade, which provided much needed relief. I think the reduction of the uncomfortable fullness feeling has caused me not to think about the ringing so much, so it has become less noticeable. On a scale of 1 to 10 the fullness feeling was a 10 and now is 1 or 2. I highly recommend Dr. Yang and acupuncture.

Thank you.

Chronic Tinnitus, Motion Sickness, Migraines

From: Lauren A. Friday,  September 28, 2012, 12:04 PM

All of my medical tests and scans were clean, though I continued to feel extremely ill and to lose my hearing.

TMJ

TMJ & Heavy Menstruation

From: Anna R. at 2:02pm 12/29/2014

In Spring of 2013 I began to feel a sharp pain on the side of my head right in front of my left ear. I assumed it was an ear infection but decided to pay a visit to my family.

doctor. Her initial diagnosis was either TMJ or Trigeminal Neuralgia. She ordered X-Rays and prescribed Lyrc. The X-rays did not show any findings and the Lyrc gave me horrible side effects, so I decided to not take it anymore.

I was taking 800 mg of Ibprfn and had to travel with a heating pad wherever I went.

I popped 800 mg of Ibprfn 3 times a day to help with the pain.

At this point, the pain was almost every day and lasted 6-8 hours. Ibprfn and a heating pad managed the pain to a small degree, but it was always there.

I was taking Listed monthly to help with these issues.
